Latest Update... He officially passed on the 21st at 6:30am i.e the life support was discountinued. There will be a viewing for him in vegas this tuesday, and his official funeral is on Sunday out here in Los Angeles. I will post more info as I get it, and I will put up some pics for the funeral so those who cant make it in person can at least be there in spirit. was just informed that Wilfredo is braindead and his family has come to terms with the fact that he can't live his life anymore... they are waiting for his dad to arrive from boston to take him off of life support. Please send your thoughts and prayers to Wilfredo And the Ramos Family. His life support will officially be pulled as of 12:pm (pacific) Sunday December 21st 2003 Thank YOu,* His last official ClubSi meet was the OG Run on May 31, 2003 The last time I literally saw him is when he came over to my new pad and helped me move my couches in the house. I never really got to hang out with him again after that since he moved to vegas. Just talked to him every now and then. As you can see in the pic above we were damn near together every time he was out in cali. Thats Me in the hat, Fredo, Impact23, Mondo(Wicked4u2c), and another so cal member. There has not been one time in my life what so ever his face didnt have that big goofy smile on it. After the first time I met him I was invited into his house as a family member and we shortly became great friends. I have tons of memories thanks to this guy and meeting him was just a life changing experience. Heres to you Fredo! I hope your spirit fares well in eternal rest. Many of you may or may not know Wilfredo Ramos from the southern california branch of club si. But he is a very great guy who is stationed out in las vegas now just trying to find his place in life. I recieved a disturbing phone call about 12:30am in the morning letting me know that Wilfredo was found at a stoplight hunched over. He has been reported to have a stroke and is currently on life support in Sunrise Hospital. I haven't been in contact with him or any of my old friends for personal reasons but I am at a loss of emotion and words right now because I do not know how to feel. Wilfredo is only 25-26 years of age and has a heart as big as Southern California, I wish more than anything that I could drop everything and drive to Vegas to be there for him. But I cannot. But I wish to let you all know that I hope Wilfredo will pull through although from what his cousin just told me. The Dr. states from a scenerio from 1 to 5 being the worse, wilfredo is at 4 and its not looking good people. I will try to keep you updated as much as possible, for as I stated I do not keep much contact with his family as I used to. Just send your thoughts, prayers, whatever it is your into, out there for Wilfredo Ramos. Here is the hospital information Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center 3186 Maryland Pkway Las Vegas , NV 89109 Telephone: (702) 731-8000 Fax: (702) 731-8668 |

Very sad. I am very sorry to hear the news. Sounded like a great guy. On a further note, for all of you who posted RIP.. he hasn't passed. You should not concede in ones passing until they have passed. I understand your wishes, but just keep that in mind for future reference. I used to work for a Funeral director, and it is looked at as misproper to do such. No offense meant. Just a friendly side note. Thanks. |

Thank you for passing this message along. I surely hope he is able to recover from this somehow, as it wouldnt be the first time Doctors have possibly misjudged a situation (or even misjudging the will power to live). The majority of any time we spent was talking over fantasy sports in the various leagues we started in the past. Fredo is funny as heck, and its always sad to see bad things happen to good people. Regardless of the outcome, I am not sure of the familys financial situation, but if they need help when the time comes, please someone post such. I have been out of work for over a year now, but would be more then willing to help out him or his family if they need it somehow. (sorry I couldnt post till now, as I had some trouble getting unbanned for some time. If anyone needs to contact me in the future regarding any help him or his family may need, there is contact information in my profile) |

I big hole has been made in my heart, I didnt even get to call him on saturday to wish him a happy birthday last week. |

Just wanted to update everyone about Wilfredo... I just got back from Las Vegas. He was taken off of life support around 6:50-7pm tonight. When I saw him earlier in the morning, he looked so peaceful. From knowing Fredo for over 7 years, he always went above and beyond to help anyone out. He will be greatly missed by all! His family is taking their loss of Wilfredo well, remembering him for what he has accomplished in his life. I could go on and on about Wilfredo for years.... Anyways, there will be a few memorial services held for Wilfredo, one this coming Tuesday in Las Vegas and one this coming Sunday in LA. If you want to attend either one, Email me at Jackdaddy4@aol.com and I will get the information to you. |

Quote: To be quite honest I am glad he didnt recover from the stroke because I work for an insurance companie and most people who have strokes and recover and live end up becomming really fucked up... Cant use their bodies correctly, some people recover just fine. The way he lived his life he would of had it no other way. We always talked about how we would die and how we would want to go and Fredo wanted to die in his car... Sad thing is he got his wish waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to godamn early in his life. |

More than 730,000 Americans suffer a new or recurrent stroke each year. In fact, someone suffers a stroke every forty-five seconds, making stroke a leading cause of adult disability - as well as the third leading cause of death nationwide. Despite its toll on society, public awareness of stroke continues to be limited. For example, a recent survey revealed: 40% of the public does not know that a stroke occurs in the brain. More than 70% of seniors can't fully identify the warning signs of a stroke. Two-thirds were unaware of the short timeframe in which a person must seek treatment. But according to experts, a stroke should be treated with the same urgency as a heart attack. Every second is critical to patient care, survival and subsequent quality of life. To help deliver prompt quality care, the medical team may consist of: Emergency physicians Emergency nurses Neurologists Neurosurgeons Medical technicians Northern Nevada Rehabilitation Services Rehabilitation Services and Northern Nevada Medical Center offer expanded facilities and the latest stroke treatments available. Included among our treatment methods is thrombolytic therapy, which greatly benefits patients if administered within 3 hours of a stroke. How much do you know about strokes? Stroke is the third-leading cause of death for Americans. But surprisingly, the public's knowledge concerning strokes is extremely limited. Education information can help you better understand what a stroke is, how to identify the warning signs of stroke and how to lower your risk of having one. First, understand what a stroke is. A stroke, sometimes referred to as a cerebral vascular accident (CVA), is an interruption in the flow of blood to cells in the brain; deprived of oxygen from the blood, the cells die. A stroke occurs when (1) a blockage of an artery prevents blood from reaching cells in the brain, or (2) an artery ruptures inside or outside the brain, causing hemorrhage. Stroke is also referred to as a "brain attack." When a stroke occurs, every second is critical. Immediate medical treatment can lower disability substantially. There are two types of strokes: Ischemic strokes caused by build-ups of fatty deposits on the inside of an artery wall which then becomes completely clogged. Ischemic strokes are the more common, accounting for eighty percent of all strokes suffered. Hemorrhagic strokes occur through the rupture of either an artery inside the brain or an aneurysm (a blood-filled bulge in the artery wall) at the base of the brain. Twenty percent of all strokes suffered are hemorrhagic strokes. Second, be sure you know the warning signs of stroke. Numbness, weakness, or paralysis in face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body. Sudden blurred or decreased vision in one or both eyes. Difficulty speaking or understanding simple statements. Loss of balance or coordination when combined with another sign. Third, learn how to reduce your risk of stroke. Control your blood pressure. Find out if you have heart disease - especially an irregular heartbeat known as atrial fibrillation (AF). Find out if you have carotid artery disease. Find out if you have diabetes. Don't smoke. Lower your cholesterol. Limit your alcohol use. Control your weight. And finally, if a stroke does occur, seek immediate medical treatment! Strokes kill. Strokes disable. A stroke should be viewed as a medical emergency, every bit as urgent as a heart attack. If you experience any signs of a stroke, call 911 immediately. Skilled care, close by. Northern Nevada Rehabilitation Services is conveniently located at Northern Nevada Medical Center. |

Sorry to hear that. It sucks that this stuff can happen even to young people like us. One of my old neighbors back when I was young had a stoke last Febuary, but she was "lucky", losing some control in the left limb and requiring a cane to walk. |
