Thats nothing... I still remember the day I found the Yahoo Club started by Dainelle "aka The Princess".

Anyone remember the NR Automotive group buy on the white gauge faces that I set up in the spring of 99? They werent even going to make them for the Si because it was a "limited production car". They had to get like 50 pre-paid orders before they would even consider making them... If I remember right we blew that number away within a week. I'm quite sure by now they have sold thousands of copys, thanks to ME!

Re: CLUBSI.com . . . Old School. . . .

I remember when the 99 Si first came out, and no one knew what a red valve cover was. Now everyone has 3 of them in their garages, and you can get Mugen knock offs on Ebay for $150.00.
I remember when the DC short throw was the hot item to have, and they were on backorder for a year.
I remember when 17" wheels were cool.
I remember when contrasting stickers were cool.
I remember when Scott at King Motorsports told me they would NOT put a B16 in my 91 CR-X Si because it "wasn't possible" to do.
I remember when I told everyone the 99 Si was going to have the del Sol VTEC engine and people told me I was stupid because that engine sucked.
I haven't been posting here on ClubSi too long on this username, but I've been around long enough to know how things work. It's funny to think about how things change through-out the years.
Remember when new users and posters weren't complete mongoloids that could at least spell their own names?

I leave you with 1 final thought..

Remember when it was cool to have 'lowering springs?'

Yep, its been weird couple of years. Granted i'm a late comer getting an si at the end of the production. I remember my first post was in members profile and a got it locked and moved cause it was the wrong forum. Fortunatly that was before the heavy flaming days. I used to just cruise, nw, general and si v all. Remember some of those flame wars with the other boards? I still have a name over at altimas.net. Now i've been pretty much just in out there. The other forums are seriously dying off. I still cruise by here and nw to help out when i can but theres just so little action. The new si just hasn't brought the people that the old one did. Ok i'm gonna go cry now!

Or who was at Nopi and got to chill with Joji in the DC Sports truck? I was there I think Hondaman was there aslo and I'm sure Mike was there. Or how bout when Brian died?

Such fond memories. I only wish that CSi hadn't gotten so big. It was a tight group and I actually had some sort of a friendship with everyone on the board at one time. That day is long gone though but CSi still produces the best moments.

We created a great comoradary with a huge following that inspired movies and groups, modders and showoffs. This has blown up the import scene. We have created the beast. As long as we are all still here in two years the posures will be gone. And we can keep doing what we feel is nessisary. I Hope csi will not die.. i will not leave it, I will visit so should you. What?! To good??? Naw, just been working doubletime to make the bigger car payments..

I still remember how this board made me realize how sh1tty the standard Civic DX/LX/EX was and helped me decide to trade mine in for the Si..

I remember all the cool canyon runs I attended with many of the og clubsi people (nick, sisean, ken99si, faction, rrlsi, impact) and all the drama that we experienced from the CHP on the bigger runs.

I remember when many of us SoCal Si owners met regularly at Au79..

I remember the very first Fuddrucker meet.. and the first Pizza Hut meet

I too remember when the Type R sway mod was the "in" thing.

I remember when the majority of people on this board were all 99-00 Si owners with minor mods such as cold air intakes and lowering springs asking actual useful questions about various car mods..

I remember when the clubsi decals were first made and proudly displayed on my back window.

Remember these?.

Re: CLUBSI.com . . . Old School. . . .

Since some people dont read Out there (understandably) I just posted this:

I remember the 7 page posts on how much the brake bias sucked and how the OE tires sucked.

the 5 page post on grinding 2>3 shifts (gok again)

I remember about 8 months after the move form yahoo, going down the general, performance etc, answering all the "noob" questions without a second though, because most of us were still learning ourselves.

It was only a couple months after Out there started that the quality and quantity of posts in the real forums dropped off.

So let's hear it for:
OSMs Supercharger install
White gauge face installations and broken needles
the gokmetal (tm) projects
AEM.... and water?
Cali Canyon runs
The Yellowcorn technique
Jason driving in a figure 8 for hours breaking in his LSD
me leading 30 cars up the NJ Turnpike for the big Dunkin donuts meet
doug's homemeade gauge pod
Everyone knew the "curse of the Si"
broken studs in the valve cover
"best exhaust" posts
the big batch of DC sport leaky headers
"in the mix" volumes 1 thru 4
Brian Deboer RIP
broken short shifters
everyone had Kosei K1s
swaybar, after swaybar, after swaybar.
altezzas came... and quickly went
Plans for a national meet came, then fell apart

That's all I can think of for now. So much has happened over these 3 years here on CSi. And my life will be changed for having experienced it.

God the memories....

Registered april 00 before I got an Si cause I wanted to find out info on it, after reading this and a test drive it was mine...

I remember the Brian tragedy, I still have the B with a halo on my window! I hope all is well brenda!

I remember the first LSP meet and meeting mike, what a wacko I thought he was..

I remember posting in the newbie forum how I couldn't drive stick and all I did was wash it and when I tried to take it out first I almost got smashed by a 18 wheeler. What a good scam, Type X bought it.

I felt at home in audio & security and eventually became moderator with YKKSI.

All those broken gauge posts and my custom scheme.. I gave everyone directions on how to do it, but I never saw anyone attempt.

NE forum ruled, it was a tight bunch...don't know many of them now.

I remember reading daily updates on Mike Chuas' car and how it was awesome.

Assfacekilla....what a site!

Okay, Right Click, Save As (About 6 MB)

You should just be able to right click and install. I just copied mine to my C:\WINNT\system32\ directory (Win2k) and it worked fine.

LOL They even have Mike (mrc144)'s "Candy Apple Blue" taillights in there.

Im still here, just have a lot less to say now aday's guess the whole growing up thing hits you...

Now i'm older and a more experienced arrogant person, instead of immature and arrogant

It would be cool to have my oldskool name back as 137 but napalm likes it more than me... I think it was a good thing, people expected a certain property from that name.

I just came back to feed the need... I loved the compliment mails, I pretty much layed the smack down on people to get a nut off cause the shit was funny to me..

I think it got pretty bad when I came here just to start trouble instead of ask about cars, I got the same mods I had on the car since early 2000 only thing new on that car is the pioneer 9200 deck and the falken tires...

other than that it was a nice experience but everything as just lost my interest. I dont even bother reading into cars, im worried about bigger things like where im gonna live... chicks, work. and bills, how im gonna buy that 40 inch trinitron with the stand and matching surround sound system...

other than that im just checkin in to let you all know it was a good 3 years.

I remember when this place used to matter in the scene. Now it's consider a haven for ricers/stunnas.

I think I was member #170 on the yahoo board. I still remember reading through every post, down to the first one.

Jason/SiRacer had 16" Borbets and a drop--I think that was the first "hooked up" Si I had seen. I vaguely remember the pics of his chick w/ the car, too

I was one of the first to get the Mugen twinloop. I think I answered about 4 billion questions about it, too.

I never thought my car would snowball to what it is. It still falls under the "mild" category, which is scary lGlad I hung onto it.

Amazed that I recognize all the old names!!!

It was so cool when CSi was a small community of regulars that checked in w/ each other every night. Every new mod was tracked w/ feverish anticipation.

OSM and the JRSC install--classic.

OSM's "daily rants"--classic. Later went to the "weekly rant"

Re: CLUBSI.com . . . Old School. . . .

Wow, this thread brings it back. I joined ClubSi when I was 14 (I'm now almost 18) in December of '99, before I could even drive with a permit. I got one of the last '00 Sis in Maine in August of '00, and didn't even drive it until July of '01 (yes, I'm still one of the few with less than 15,xxx miles). CSi used to be such a closely-knit community and I remember watching threads with anticipation. I stopped visiting as often when the UBB was changed, as I really didn't like the format as well. I remember back to when I took a screenshot of 15,000 members (the first time), and it's below. Since then, I've gone on two CSi events and met some great people. I don't visit here as much, but I've got some great memories of the place, learned tons, and everyone still seems to do their best to help answer my questions when I do have them...and I'm still rocking one of the old school CSi stickers. Thanks, guys.

I remember discussion about ITR swaps being possible (and doing it). I remember Brian (RIP) and SiSean going to the police academy. I remember the Tanabe RM deal, and how everything that came up on CSI became the trend (ITR rear sways, indiglos, altezzas (original), the the tanabe RM. I also remembre God. Re: CLUBSI.com . . . Old School. . . .

I bought my Si in April '99 and registered here almost exactly one year later. I remember driving along happily in my unmodded car for a year, then stumbling on this web site. I was instantly hooked.

At the time, the AEM CAI and DC Sports 4-1 header were very popular mods, so I got 'em. Also got Neuspeed sport springs and Tokico non-adjustable shocks (also popular picks at the time).

Before Club Si, I had little knowledge about cars, let alone the idea of modding them. Why on earth would anyone lower a car??

I remember the great teachings and rants by OSM in the boost forum. Now it's st00pid building cars that run 11's.

Remember SiRacer's quest for 12's on street tires? How 'bout his turbo buildup, teardown, buildup, teardown, Vortech SC buildup... it was extremely entertaining and informative.

I toyed with the idea of boost for a while. I can't remember how many posts I saw that started with "Wooohooo! I'm Boosted!", then the same person was posting pictures of their blown engine 2 weeks later.

I decided against boost.

I remember the day "god" was banned from ClubSi. Things really went to hell after that.

Club Si got me hooked on drag racing. I ran a few 16.2's the first time at Bradenton Motorsports Park. Another member (Ballzy2000Si) observed my fabulous bogging launch and gave me some tips. I hit high 15's after a few more runs that night.

I might never have tried drag racing if I hadn't stumbled on this site! Of course, I probably would not have destroyed my clutch last month, either...

Thanks for the memories, Club Si!

I wasn't there during the old days, well, not really.

I remember I still had my 98 stang gt, I came over to this board to see what these "SI" civics were all about. Never registered just lurked around.

Well, three things happened to me:
1.) I got my ass handed to me one night on I95 heading east one night by an EBP SI, I loved the color of the car. That was a shock, I didnt see that coming
2.) I could not afford the insurance on the stang anymore.
3.) I was in the market for a new car after my DSM, the car after the stang, went to shit. I test drove the SI, due to my memory of getting my ass handed to me. I test drove one, fell in love and bought it.

After this I registered and have been here for about 8 months or so. Wish I could have been there in the old school days, looked like fun. Oh well, I plan to start going to some NE meets and getting to know some of the guys I have been talking with.

I remember going to S Cali for a whole crapload of meets. Doing a pre-run on Angles Crest with Nick and oRay before the first Ortega, and things older than that.

I can't believe I remember everything everyone else has posted.

Re: CLUBSI.com . . . Old School. . . .

remember when you could go into CSi Chat and actually get technical info or have an intelligent conversation? now it's just like the out there forum.

remember when danielle sold her Si and bought a pick'em up truck?

ilovemysi, if you read this, who loves ya?

remember when the 1000 members from ohio overtook the general forum to prove that we needed a regional forum? now look at the region forums statistics and see which is the most active.

i remember when we hosted the first Ohio CSi meet, i paid for everyone's dinner, oih, i think i am still paying for that tab...

damn, i am still mad that after all that LS6.com shit, i still have lost 4 months of my register date...

i don't think there has been a day in the past 3.5 years, that i have not been on CSi

i still have my Halo B sticker in my window. interesting fact. i put that sticker on at the same time as my CSi sticker (given to us by Joji at the first Summit Import Nationals) and my CSi stickers have faded so bad that you can't read them anymore, but the B sticker still shines on...

i remember when sportinjection fried his clutch trying to master the Yellowcorn Style. hell, i remember when sportinjection was sportinjection and not Ten Twelve.

anyone remember gok? lol, where's he been lately?

i remember mixing up the gokmetal tm for gok and sending him cans of paint.

i remember when you can post something in the Out There forum and not be called newbie by someone who registered in august of 2002....

i remember when everyone used to rip on Type X, oh wait, that was yesterday...

i remember how much faster the old format was...

i remember when the Tsunami kits looked good.

i remember when tightening your throttle cable was a mod... so was removing your H emblem. but you were god if you could get your Civic emblem to stick in the grill.

remember gok's sweat shop pics of his kids all in the garage doing something with his car?

ahh, the good ole days...

Wow, what really makes that funny is its true but seriously I remember when I used to have my stang and came here to read and I could never figure out why this Type X character caught so much shit all the time, then I signed up and I thought to myself, why doesnt Type X get picked on more?

Re: CLUBSI.com . . . Old School. . . .

I remember
- being the 2nd DX here, after a silver DX hatch (MR Hatch I beleive) &
-Meeting a bunch of peeps at Nopi00
-Beeing the only white DX in a long as line of Sis at NOPI
-Meeting OSM-first "old" guy I met with a phat Civic
-When FlyEX had like 100 posts a day
-When there were about 80% interesting posts
-When 137 and Diesel used to lay the smack down
-Hell, 137 had the first homemade black housing headlights, at least to my recolection.
-I joined on 1/25/00- only had my car 25 days.
-When "Post Masters" didn't ask newbie questions
-Hell, when there were no Postmasters, just Moderators and everybody else.
-When SiRacer posted pics of his Turbo install and I was just like "Damn"
-Tsunami lips were the absolute shit
-Everyone wanted the Arospeed RS11s that look like big Si wheels
I remeber alot, this board has changed alot, now I mostly just come and read. I don't post alot due to a lot of ignorant rookies posting stuff. When I came there were only a few thousand members. I remeber when the "Who's On Line" board listed about 20 people, I went to it today and there were about 200.

I remember when I was the only tech guy in the club because I was the only one registered that had actually worked on Civics with B16As in them....

I remember when the whole club was about cars....

I have a doug bezel and will not take it out until I sell the car.... I think the SI looks dumb without it.... I also have the NR guage faces... of course....

I remember Brian DeBoer
I remember Mark (kuku) thinking he was badass for having the Tsunami front clip.
I remember all my old Midwest buds
I remember the pointless female forum
I remember Troy or someone posting my boobs up
I remember being a b*tchy attention whore of some sort
I remember actaully being on a friendly level with SiRacer
I remember all those darn newbie questions
And I remember when everyone actually had an Si.

I haven't had mine for over a year now but I just can't kick the CSi habit.

Re: CLUBSI.com . . . Old School. . . .

I remember Arospeed RS11s.

Took me weeks to find ONE RIM when one of mine got bent in a fender bender. It was a display model in a little shop in Texas or someplace. Now Arospeed has re-released them and I see them all the time.

By the way, I'm old so I don't remember much...but I do remember this:

whats up, kuku? I just passed on a Hachiroku for 2500 in very good condition...Of course it was really just a USDM 87 GTS. Would have loved it but there's just no place around here to enjoy it.

Re: CLUBSI.com . . . Old School. . . .

Oh...so many memeries. Some Nopi moments...

I remember that chick. She was damn tall!

I remember NOPI 2000 and meeting a bunch of people including Gok and OSM. I remember some of the lowrider dudes setting up ramps in the motel parking lot and jumping that pimped out golf cart right in front of my car. That guy had to weigh 300 lbs that was driving it.
I remember rushing to get my NOPI system done, which was the box that ScrapinSi bartered from me trading a RC car and an old speaker box. It was the one with the Neuspeed bar going down the middle of the C shaped box with the two 8w6s. Man, I miss that system...
I remember hauling down a stereo that I build for a guy in Atlanta in my trunk along with my system, and installed it in the parking lot of the motel that first night. How many people can say that they can carry 2 8s, amps, suitcases, and another box for 2 12s and all the panels in an Si trunk down to Nopi...
I remember walking over to dinner by OSM at the local waffle house there. That was awesome! Truly one of the more "family" oriented moments. It was like we had known each other for years, although it was the first time we had ever met.
I remember that even back then, we had enough Sis show up and park in the same spot as Clubsi Atlanta that NOPI thought all of our cars were in the Altanta club, and they won the "Best Car Club" award, or something like that.
I remember Mike had that red/black CF hood that everyone wanted. First time any of us had seen it. He was the only one that was boosting 10 lbs too. The test drive was awesome, thanks Mike.
I remember a ton of other things. It was a good time, and I will remember this when I am that old fogy telling my grandkids what I did when I was a kid. Things have definately lost the family feel, but it was good for well over 2 years. It still has it's moments, but most of the "characters" of the club just watch.

This club will never be repeated or duplicated, which is good and bad. I'll remember all the good things.
Wes
