Elite-Products Royal Blue wax

Went to a carshow and a guy was demonstrating this wax saying that you can use it in direct sunlight that when it hardens it will turn into a nonabrassive powder instead of the typical abbrasive that typical carnuba wax is.

Just wondering if anyone heard or read about this before. Thanks

Thats where I quit reading. Most of those products are extremely gimmicky and do not hold any legit value in the eyes of a serious detailer. Go to http://www.autogeek.net and browse around, anything on that website is very legit and will work.

The people who are demonstrating said product can use more to setup their demonstration than meets the eye. They use these to appeal to the masses, those of which have very little to no detailing experience whatsoever. If a product appeals to 95% of the people out there, its going to sell. Even if the remaining 5% knows that there are better products out there for equal or less money. Consider me in that 5%. Im just trying to help you out and let you know there are tons of other good products out there which are vastly superior to the one listed.

What product can I use to wax in direct sunlight and if it hardens it comes off as a nonabrasive power instead of somthing harsh like Zemoil and Meguyers?

Well, for polishes, the whole Poorboy's lineup can be used in direct sunlight, hot or cold. Ive used their products for 2 years now and couldnt be happier. Also, Im not quite sure what you mean by "something harsh like Zymol or Meguiar's". If you use the products correctly in their appropriate conditions, you should never get a harsh product to remove. Some have to sit for awhile, others do not. Some have prerequisites, others do not. There are just a lot of factors in terms as to which product is best suited for each application and which step of the process. Also, another thing about the product you listed is that it's one of those "Magical One Step" deals where it claims to polish, seal, wax, gloss, all in one step. This is NOT the best route to take if you actually want to get the best results possible. If you ask any competent detailer, you will not find ONE that recommends using just an "all-in-one" product as opposed to doing it right with 4-8 different steps/processes/products. You simply do not get the same results. There is a skill to detailing, there really is.

Just to be the Devil's advocate, $;\)$ a fair amount of the anal-rententive detailers over in Autopia.org love Klasse's AIO, granted they throw a LSP on top.
And just because they're doing a live demo doesn't make the product any more of a gimmick. Mezerna (sp) and 3M were doing live demo's at SEMA, though I do understand what you're getting at.

Zemoil and meguyers are harsh if you let the wax harden up a bit and here in FL during the summer time it dries up fast in the shade. Alot of sun here as well which kills since I have no safe shady areas that I can immediatly wax after a nice wash/dry. When it dries up it becomes tiny sandlike particles which don't at all resemble the powder'like feel of this Royal Blue stuff after it hardens. I've used like 4 bottles of Zymoil and about the same with Meguyers. I love them both, it's just that the damn wax only lasts for 2 weeks and then it's gone because of the damn heat and sun. So I was hoping that if there was a wax that I could use in the direct sun then that would help me out majorly so I wouldnt have to worry about shade.

Yes, every company makes 2in1 products but I didn't say I recommended any of them. For the casual detailer, sure, they're great. And by the sound of things, you're not a completely OCD very attention-to-detail perfectionist like myself and many other professional detailers. Now, don't think Im getting all pissy with you, Im not. Im just saying in the world that is detailing, you have two types of people.

1) People who want to have a clean car with the least amount of possible work.

and

2) People who are willing to take DAYS to make said car look perfect.

If you're in group 1 (which under my assumption, you are), then the 2 in 1's will work fine. But just know, that if you took your time, and didn't mind taking 8 hours being nit-picky on JUST the outside of the car, you could get better results. Yes, there are a time and place for both things, and you do NOT have do a #2 type person cleaning job on the car weekly. Even just twice a year would be more than sufficient. That's all Im trying to say. IS that clear or clear as mud? Take care!

I used to be in group #2, but now I'm somewhere in the middle. Once every couple months I'll go over the paint with Griot's Machine Polish #3, or 3M Hand Glaze in areas where I don't want to run the buffer near any trim pieces, then cover the car in carnauba wax. I don't do multi-stage prepwork much anymore, because the little bit extra you see in results isn't worth it on a daily driver that has to be detailed so often.

I don't stoop so low as 2 in 1 products, but I'm not spending 8 hours on the paint anymore, either. The paint is clean, smooth, and protected, but I could be reducing the swirl marks a bit more, and I could be getting a bit more reflection and depth. But... I'm over it.

You're not spreading the wax out thin enough...

For you, this all in one product sounds right up your alley.
