securing advertisement

anyone have any pointers or direction to sample advertisement proposal letters? in the three issues of my magazine that has been out, i've surpassed over 750 views of my magazine. with the last issue, i broke the 200 mark with in 7 days of it being published so that accounts for people wanting to read/view it

i understand that with only having three issues published and in circulation on a six issue a year cycle...most advertisers may want to stay away until i get a year under my belt but i'm still looking for pointers or advice.

thank you everyone for always encouraging me and providing positive feedback and constructive criticism

I think the long and short of it is, as neat as it is for you to have gotten those views on something that you've built yourself, it's actually very little. You need to work on getting readership numbers up.

750 views is nothing man. Hundreds of thousands of views is the minimum for people to start really noticing.

Have you approached any of the forums to provide coverage in exchange for link backs? Need to try to figure out a way to get a little exposure without pissing off the sources for blatantly attempting to steal their traffic.

Re: securing advertisement

How about marketing to increase readership? Flyering cars at events? Flyers to give out when people ask what you're shooting for? You've got to get the mobile stuff going for that though, otherwise you'll lose out on 95% of the people that look at that moment.

Re: securing advertisement

that's what i'm looking to do now adam.

one of the reps from clayton and I were talking earlier this week about the possibility of sending me some of their control arms to do a how to/tech feature on their arms in exchange for promotion of their brand.

when the march issue drops, I will be running a contest for 5 people to win a t-shirt, sticker, and photobook in a way to generate more readership. I've also added a subscribe function to the website that allows readers to join the mailing list to get behind the scenes footage from some of the events where i'll be, upcoming information, and promo things that I will be doing. received about 100 emails since I announced that on Monday.

honestly this is a lot of work and at times, it can be overwhelming, BUT I am having fun doing what i'm doing.

kinda pissed that I missed koh but it helped me with a strategy. a lot of the photographers that were out there were only snapping snapshots and not setting up in places where they could set up really thought out photographs. after that, the rush for each of them to beat each other on posting them to social media was CRAZY. that fueled me to somewhat unfollow (not unfriend) them due to somewhat being jealous but to also only focus on the photographs from photographers that I could learn something from and improve on my craft
