I thought it would be a fun for everyone to mess with one of my dreary fish pictures. Pic right out of the camera looks dull and crappy. I'll post up my pic after processing, I'd like to see what you guys could do if you feel like wasting a few mins... I'm always up for some post processing tips as I suck at it Original untouched: Niagara Steelhead by lnxguycsi, on Flickr My attempt: Niagara Steel by lnxguycsi, on Flickr |

I can't eat fish I'm allergic, but my oldman loves them.. I wish in my pic my buddies fingers weren't so fucking red, but that's the only way I can get the rest of the fish to 'pop' |

I don't like the taste of fish but use to work in a fish market at a grocery store so I got use to cutting them, and that looks like it'd give some wonderful meat. I'm not sure what program you are using but in LR3 it looks like you used too much vibrance or saturation, or both. Unfortunately unless you're going to do layers (I don't), post processing becomes a method of sacrifices. If you want the fish to pop, sacrifice the hands. If you want everything to look 'right', then some things are going to either be flat or overdone... If you don't like it, then start layering. Me I don't know fish that well, so I just went with what feels right to me. I figured his hands were cold so I wasn't afraid to go a little darker then I felt comfortable with. |
