"I don’t want my parents to feel the shame of having a son like me." I can understand that to an extent. What I can't understand is how that turns into a decision to kill them all. Not come clean, not runaway, not take my own life, but murder my whole family. And if I'm not mistaken he stabbed them all.

From what I gather his reasoning is that if he didn't kill them, his parents would be embarrassed forever because of him. My wife's teacher friends taught both the guy (years ago) as well as the sister. Apparently was your typical nice shy kid, this is just a precursor of the mental health challenges ahead.
If you look at the internally published stats in the school boards, there has been an exponential spike in kids with some sort of ailment physical/mental over the last decade. It's insane.

He and his sister went to my sister in laws high school. Dude didn’t do well in high school at all. I’ll just say that be barely passed his classes in the last year and his sister has a learning disability.
How he kept this away from his parents for this long is quite a feat and I guess it caught up and this is the result unfortunately.
