Is it still openly advertised? Or am fighting? About to say fuck you to Bell and head back to Rogers. |

I did manage to lower my bill for all 3 services to 199 a month with lowered my bill 20 bucks a month and upgraded my internet speed 10 times. Current speeds on speedtest.net are 890mb download with 45 upload. So even if you get turned down (which i did 3 different times) ask for something. |
Hmm, ok thanks. It's a little too rich for my blood, I don't use enough to justify that. Current plan is 100mbit for 60 bucks, I'll likely hang on to that for a bit. |

Just went through that thread, and found out the deal was extended to March. And though it is apparently for existing customers with either TV or Internet, new customers have gotten the deal as well. Looks like i'm going to battle with these fuckers. |

Thats my issue with Rogers, you literally have to fight them to get any deal |

I have the Gigabit, but all my devices get 60Mbps down max, 40Mbps up ,wired or wireless. A bit faster 5G connection which is always out of the range. Wired directly to the Rogers modem with a short cable, ya some hundreds Mbps. |

Looks like I can get the 1gig through cogeco. |

Install for my Fibe 50/Fibe TV took about 2 weeks, and was lied to by customer service, a supervisor, retention, retention manager, and even by their Ray Donovan Mr. Fix it. |

Round 2 fail. Now that I brought up the fact that the deal was extended to March 31, and that I was told 24 hours ago that the deal had expired, they then told me its not available via customer care and only via door to door sales ppl. Awaiting a response from Management. Which will probably lead me to the Office of the President. Which will give me the fuck you and direct me to the Office of the Ombudsman. Oh how I love this game... |
I've heard that it has to be sold by the field rep too, but its basically a ploy to prevent the RFD'ers from calling in for the package. Even they got around that, they got the name of a field rep and just called him |
People fighting with Rogers to have the company take their money, simply amazing |
Fight is for them to get less of your money for more service. Bell is currently digging in my street for their new fangled high speed, will see if rogers knocks on my door soon. |
*Update Round 3 with two managers failed. They offered the same services at $125.99/month. Told them to fuck off (not really lol). Contacted one of the field sales reps that posts on the RFD forums, and he got it done for me the next morning. Now i'm stuck with robbers for another 2 years lol |

My contract just recently expired and I was considering cutting cable and going with someone like Telsavvy for Internet and home phone. However when you do the math this plan is much better. True I don't need anywhere near this Internet package not that many TV channels but anything more simpler/basic would still come to roughly the same price. Did anyone successfully add this to their existing account? Are you in a co tract already? |
I contacted the RFD guy who said I should cancel my existing account and create a new one which I didn't like since I would lose my years as a customer. |
Yes, a friend had to escalate to office of the president to get it done. |

They don't care about how long you've been a customer anymore. For the longest while only "new" customers were able to get this deal until someone found a field rep willing to bend the rules a bit. |

Their metrics place priority on "new customers" so play that to your advantage. |

Seemed like new customers still had trouble getting the deal, but not nearly as much as existing customers. Even some customers who escalated to office of the president didn't have any luck. |

WTF are you trolling us here? What do you care more? saving money or a gold star sticker to show how long you've been paying rogers at an absurd pricing? |

yea, there's no such thing as companies treating long term customers better anymore. |

You’re all correct regarding the customer loyalty thing. Regarding the math, this is my logic, anyone see any flaws? Tecksavvy Internet – Cable 30 – Unlimited usage = $53 Phone - Tektalk Premium = $15 Modem = ??? Third party subscription for IPTV = $10 2 IPTV boxes = $10 (averaged over 2 years) Total each month before taxes = $88 Rogers Cable + Internet = $99 Second receiver = $5 Home phone = $10 Total each month before taxes = $114 Difference = $26 I initially thought Teksavvy’s home phone options were limited $26 for a traditional home phone line which brought the difference to $16 but then I saw they have a cheaper VoIP offering |
You are missing the gigabit part. Teksavy doesn't have that. |
Yea but I know I definitely don't need that. Which is why I compared against the Cable 30 plan which I think will suffice for my needs. |
Fuck TS. Shit has gone downhill. Their speeds are shit and during peak it slows down. GTFO, is this the late 90's again lol |

Oh darn those bastards! However, I made the switch over to start communication, cable 60, unlimited for 60 bucks a month. Their customer service and service reliability has been top notch. |

Bell rep came by on the weekend offering: Gigabit internet @ 45.95 Better tv package with 3 receivers @ 60.95 Home phone with international LD @ 17 Total $123.9 Called Rogers to see what's up and he didn't even try to offer better. Their Ignite 500 internet + tv and phone would be more than I'm paying now. Ignite 150 would be slightly cheaper than what I pay now. Guess I'm moving over to Bell. |
That include the land line monthly? |

Yup, home phone breakdown Home phone Choice $56.31 Residence Line Visual Call Waiting Call Answer Message Manager Call Control Last Call Return Call Forwarding Call Privacy Three-Way Calling Long Distance feature 40¢/min. International Plus Long Distance Plan $2.00 9-1-1 Emergency Service $0.13 Service Area Charge $0.00 Home Phone Promo - ongoing CR $41.44 Total (before taxes) $17.00 |
i was paying too much for the bell best package and unlimited internet, was like $120/mo. i cut the tv back to the better package but there's nothing on tv anymore. i think that they have got the "oh i'll cancel" threat so much that it doesn't even phase them anymore. no home phone, not needed, what should i be paying if i wanted the best package again? |
best package for TV?.. should probably be around 120-130?.. give or take, depending on TMN/HBO add-on? |
They still have this deal posted in the first post. It's changed to only 1 year price guarantee & you have to get it from a field rep (the ones that go door to door) or pm one on RFD. |
My 2-yr Rogers combo deal expired a few months ago ... and I'm paying thru the roof... ~$200 for Rogers TV (1 level above 'basic), internet (can't remember speeds), modem, 1 HD TV box (no PVR), 1 SD TV box ... I gotta jump on the Bell deal or something ... $200/mth is f'ing nuts. (Called Rogers a month ago re: the $99 gigabit deal, and they said nope, only new customers etc.) |
I guess they expect customers to swap every couple years. |
I think most people just take the hit and pay through the nose without complaining or threaten to jump but do nothing in the end. If they saw a mass exodus, you would think they would be smart enough to offer deals but they may just be hedging bets that you'll stay. |

I need to upgrade my plan, been bumping into my 100gb allowance recently. Any suggestions for internet-only plans on cable? I'm currently paying $42/month with Rogers including the modem and am not interested in spending significantly more than that. |

Good suggestions all, thanks for the tips. |

Still with teksavvy cable 30 for $47/month. (200g cap), for $53/month it's same speed and unlimited. Been with them for I think 5 years now, no issues, haven't had the slow downs others complain about even during peak times I am downloading at the advertised speeds from torrent clients even. Customer service is definitely top notch. |
I'm gonna try eBox and see how it goes. $42.95 (with the group price) for 30mbps and 250gb cap. I'm basically paying the same right now for 100gb with Rogers. No install fee from eBox either. Teksavvy is $46.95 for 200gb Start is $50 for unlimited (probably overkill) |
i've actually switched from ebox to carrytel. no problems whatsoever. $40/month unlimited for 100mbps. if you're going with ebox and need a modem,, i have a thomson modem 4300 that can be yours for dirt cheap. i only used it for less than 1 year. |

im still on rogers 100u with basic tv for $99/month, ends in 2018 changed cell phone to 4gb individual plans vs 6gb shared for $100/month saw this on rfd today: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/bell-bell...t-post-1779871/ switching providers every 2 years is prob gonna be the norm until a true reliable iptv provider shows up |
