Goodbye old, hello new

Today I brought the R5 with me to work. TFX is picking it up and it's on it's way to Tacoma WA.
The car is a world traveler. Germany to Japan to Canada to the US

I think I could get two on my trailer lol

HEEEELLLLLLOOOO new, 2001 Renault Clio V6 Sport \:D Cant wait to drive it! Comes in late December, it's an early production car, probably will be the first in Canada.

I cant wait!!
The R5 was a lot of fun, I mean make you laugh fun. Probably not as fun as the 348 was though.

The Clio V6 has an aftermarket exhaust and it's supposed to sound amazing. We will see! She only has 62,000km on her. Only other mod is a fiberglass hood.

Re: Goodbye old, hello new

Thanks guys! I am super excited. Been one of the cars I've had to own. I've been counting down the months! And then the broker I use in Japan bought one for himself. Drove it for a few months (you think I buy a lot of cars, imagine being right in Japan!) and was going to send it back to auction when I noticed it and bought it. It's on a trickle charger in a garage in Japan right now until late November. It can't land in Canada until mid December otherwise it won't clear customs and be deported.
Come spring we can do a meet and you guys can check it out.

The 348 was sold over Christmas. Went to a dealer/collector in Florida. It's getting a full refurbishment right now. He sent me some pics, it's gonna be nice.

Acutally that's a good idea, come to my
House and help build the garage and you can get a ride. I just bought a midsize Kioti backhoe tonight, so it's time to get serious and clear shit out of the way for spring!

It's awesome! 18ft of deck. It's a lowboy, drop axles so no need to waste deck space with a dove tail.
I love it! So glad I went with this one and not a traditional 14-16ft deck and 2-3ft dove tail.
It was a custom build, but the customer could not follow through with the purchase so I got lucky and bought it. I had them add extra tie downs and brakes on both axles

Any Ford Escord Cosworth LHD? I was under the impression that those Cosworth were mainly RHD because UK

The dude I sold too had it for sale, I was tempted to buy it back lol
not sure if it sold or not.
The guy emailed me twice a week every week!, he was NOT a car guy. He thought he would buy it and drive it as a daily, then cash in when it was legal to go the US. I told him it's an old Audi, good luck with that! And I was right. Felt bad for him, but I tried to warn him.

They are getting expensive! both the WRX and the Escort. I missed a red Escort on ebay UK for 17,000 pounds (GPB?). I wasn't sure what/IF the Renault was going to sell so I was hesitant to pull the trigger, and someone beat me too it \:\(

LMAO i want to know who told him that it would be a good idea for him to buy a old imported audi for a daily

what kind of problems did he have with it?

Re: Goodbye old, hello new

not so much problems you would have if it was a weekend car, but problems you would have with it being a daily. It was low, so he spent an assload on coilovers to gain 1.5 inches so he could get up his cottage driveway.
He spent a bunch on a stereo. Hmmmm what else. Some electrical grimlins popped up, I think a power window switch.
And worse of all the heat stopped working, which was a dash out fix. That was the last straw, I think he sold it after that.

Re: Goodbye old, hello new

LOL screw having no heat in a car. but spending coin to raise the car? some bigger tires wouldn't suffice?

zc911
(Post Master Supreme)
09/20/16 03:33 PM
Re: Goodbye old, hello new

to own an older car like that you either need to be prepared to spend money, or have the know how to fix it yourself.

It was really low, could not get bigger tires under it.

I would have used it a daily driver if I had the time/money to keep fixing little things. But I've had enough of that, i'll take a boring reliable daily thanks haha

I wouldn't, if you're upfront with the person about what's currently wrong with the car, it's on the seller to see if it fits their needs, not the other way around.
