Costain, who lives in Toronto, said he doesn’t believe race played any role in his altercation with Dobbs. “I’m not trying to play the race card,” he said when asked. “That could’ve happened to anyone.”
No doubt the guy got beat, but even the "victim" doesn't think it's race based. Let's do our best not to be Al Sharpton.
Now, as for whether the beating was warranted? Gotta prove beyond a reasonable doubt. With Costain's testimony criticised as being "contradictory", sounds like his lawyers didn't prep him. If he really had try to take a run at police with his car, then I can see how things went down.
