Website building

What's the best hosting site out there?

Probably fine with .ca address and use Wordpress?
I've seen some including free domain if their web hosting is used.

Re: Website building

For Hosting there are tons of options. I've had good experience with Host Gator. Whatever you do stay away from GoDaddy. They are good/cheap at domain registrations and thats about it. I've used SmarterASP.net for .NET applications. There is also Wix if you want easy drag and drop customizations.

WP and call it a day, tons of support. What are you building the website for? Really helps determine if a .ca is the best option.

Not feeling the logo. The cup cake is so small it almost looks like a $1 cone from McDonald. The name is kinda meh too IMO.

http://www.layeredcreations.ca/ \:D

Purchased the domain, then using their free Weebly service.
It's only 1 page site, but I don't think I need more than that at this moment.

With some photoshop work, it gets a little more realistic

Hopefully you don't over photoshop the products to the point that the person making the cake can't match the quality....

MSRP
$350
$500+

I know some of you are going \:o
but when you put 20-30 hours into it plus the material, profit is low.
25 grams of good quality edible paint is $6-7 each

It's pretty labour intensive \:\)

Msrp - Where you getting these numbers from?
Is that what YOU actually sold those cakes for?

It's definitely labour intensive. Cakes look great! God luck with the biz

Guy posts asking about price as your potential customer who could serve as a great platform to promote your product here as a third party and to other people, you spend time babble fucking about MSRP and labour intensity instead of hooking the guy up for cost with a bit of a markup to get the word out.

I don't even.

Re: Website building

When I took the course, i had to build a $350 cake and was given certain time to do.
That was that pirate/beach cake.

If you are serious about it, please PM me.

The red one was a wedding cake for the couple who wanted certain colours and geometric shapes.
Price really varies depends on what's inside the cake. 1 real cake + 2 dummies, all real cakes etc
