I am putting my summers on in about a week. Bought coilovers and will drop the car and change out the sway bars. I am too lazy to jack up the car again after that to swap wheels so it's all getting changed next week during the suspension swap. GNSP. |

bcuz ricer at heart lol. i have to find some new sticky summers for the R...think i'll drop back to a 205/50/16 from the offsize 215/45/16...have to see what's out there, have tried quite a few brands. usually i'd just do an RS3 or RE11 as dd/lapping duty but tempted to go stickier like A048 or 888 or something (using it for both dd/lapping). |

If you don't do an R comp, try out the dunlop direzza z2. I think for a non R-comp, they're my favorite so far. Don't get me wrong, I loved the RE-11 as well but I was able to dial out more understeer with the z2 just by adjusting tire pressures a little. |

Pretty sure PSS are going to be my next summers. |

I've got a set of PSS right now. What size are you looking for? Wanna buy mine? |

Beats me. I don't have a car to put them on (yet) |
I am gonna pile in here, for my tl the pss or dunlops? 235/40/18...going to see about 5k/year in driving so treadwear isn't overly important just looking for something half decent and sticky. Also where do you buy your tires here? |

What are you thinking to replace it with? Hopefully with something that needs a 235/45/17 size tire! I picked up my PSS from Tires23 - I pretty much only go through them. Pricing is pretty much the same everywhere give or take a few bucks if you're buying up here in Canada. |

Based on the things I'm looking at, 235 would make a nice spare tire |

So much better than my Bridgestones(which I know are garbage to begin with) They are quiet, smooth and handle very well with spirited street/backroad driving. Hopefully I'll see how they handle a few track days this summer. But for what I paid for them, I feel like I got an excellent tire. I would buy them again for sure. |

Also where do you buy your tires here? dont touch dunlops they're harder and louder than most (across the board), in your TL you'll be annoyed and the car will feel noisier and cheaper esp at hwy speeds. pss ballin, not bad. check out conti's they're always a great choice. i like bridgestone but not they're low end stuff. like euphoric said you maybe don't need to break the bank with pss or conti's...doubt you want anything goodyear either. so checkout a decent falken or yokohama all-round sport all-season tire. (depending how 'sporty' you wanna go. yoko makes some decent models for the money. there's always toyo too. |

Depending on the size you need, they are a great tire in terms of performance/ride vs cost. The Conti DWS is another great option like Screamin was mentioning. I would have gone that route, but my personal preference is the Falkens. I found that the DWS had a slightly softer sidewall and almost felt too soft when run on the Coupes. |

453 is a great tire for the money. Sidewalls are a bit soft(in my experience) but so is the PSS. |
so when's everyone putting their dubs on? weather network's 14 day trend says it will be above +4 until march 23rd. |

Maybe this weekend? Saturday is supposed to be nice. |

PSS are really quiet... and soft. Man the side walls are soft. I'm running 275 squared and its quiet, so I'm sure 235 won't be an issue. |

There are multiple dorezzas. Dz101 and dz102, which are the junk ones...and z1/z2/starspec which are the track ones. The z2 and z1 are mad loud even on my s4. Like super ridic loud. I would highly advise against these for DD. Btw ed wtf u have re71r what for. They wear mad quick. The tread wear rating on that tire is bogus XD people are getting like 3 days out of those tires before they cycle out |

1k for half decent tires on 18"+ is nothing. This is not meant to sound baller or anything, but it's generally garbage at lower price points when it comes to tires or at least anything performance oriented. |

I track the car. Go through 1 set of tires annually. If u must know about yonge St, I can do that ramp at 140 on winters :p not safe to do on summers BC velocity would be way high and it's a blind corner XD Dz102 is good for street I give it that. Sorry, maybe "crap" was a poor adjective to use. But performance wise, comparing a dz dirrezza to a z dirrezza is like night and day fa realz. Not on the same level at all. No need for insanity on the street it is a waste. Plus it is not fun to have a less grippy tire... More entertaining on the street. As long as tire characteristics are good (steering feel, steering response, noise and wet traction etc), then that's all that matters. IMO on the street, finding a tire that feels good is paramount. I don't disagree with u here Fwiw doe some tires do not make noise even when traction is broken. Noise is not an indication of on limit adhesion. |

As long as tire characteristics are good (steering feel, steering response, noise and wet traction etc), then that's all that matters. IMO on the street, finding a tire that feels good is paramount. I don't disagree with u here Fwiw doe some tires do not make noise even when traction is broken. Noise is not an indication of on limit adhesion. maybe it's just me but the 102's have all those characteristics, feelZ, steering response, great in the rain too. it could be because they are fresh but i can't get them to push even with the size of the boat tlx. i remember running bridgestone RE010's and the yoko ES100's and those were loud as shit. |

Here's a dumb question, are SUV tires specific? What I mean is can I use a proper sized performance tire on my RDX or do they have to be SUV specific? Do they make performance oriented light truck tires? Looking at a set of Bridgestone RE760's for the TLX as recommend my Allen from ST. |
They def make perf oriented suv tires No they do not need to be specific Best to ensure factory overall diameter if possible to optimize abs/esc function And just ensure tire load limit is within the vehicle gvwr |
well since it's the R and i barely drive it, let alone very far to work if i take it i can manage to run on r-comps even for dd, store them indoors during winter and it's all good. i'm just cheap (and dont have room) for a 3rd set of rims/tires to have dedicated lapping tires. usually i just run a solid sticky summer max perf (like those i mentioned) and use those for DD and lapping...they're done by the 2nd summer lol. so thinking i may just "rice" out and get like A048's for dd/lapping...waaaaaat. and yes you can take offramps and silly speeds, just sayin |

Took car for test drive hoping wheel falls off. Apparently with spacers it's standard practice to have a wheel or two fly off at one point or another. Would've been a fitting place for it to happen at markville. |

The safest way is use a spacer with an integrated second set of studs. The shear point is limited that way. |

I should add car looks good man |

Very clean! what did you use for the drop? |
Thanks everyone, glad people like it. I really enjoy the lines of this car, maybe I am biased, but it sure feels like it's one of the nicer looking sedans out there once you do a few subtle mods. I was getting crazy ADD mid winter was going to get a new car, started looking at many different options, in the end decided to just throw a few mods at this one and make it last. I used Tein coilovers, there was a sale for 30% off with an acurazine vendor so I jumped on it. Car rides about 20%-30% stiffer than stock, but that's a combination of switching from winter tires to summers with a lower profile, upgraded rear sway bar, and uncalibrated butt dyno feelz. Can't really tell what made the biggest difference, but the car definitely feels a lot more nimble now. I used the Ichiba V2 spacers, they are spacers that bolt up to your hub and then you bolt up your wheel to that. Like Jeff said, they are supposed to be better, we will see. Need to schedule an alignment with level one auto and then possibly get new tires or maybe make these last a season and get the tires next year. |
The spacers that I ran were also of that type, if its any consolation. (I doubt you care, thuglife) |
i ran 25mm spacers like that on my RSX with the DC5R wheels because they were something stupid like a +20 offset. didn't have any problems. |
I fucking love that gen. TL!!! |
If Acura could slide my TLX's 3.5 and SH-AWD into a car that looked like Riskys, they'd have a winner. |

anddddd it's snowing. |

That TL was the best of them all. Drove my coworkers 2013 IS-F. I want that!! |

It might be a nice drive, but it loses when it goes up against an equivalent year M3. |
The same M3 ready to grenade at any point amiright? All that shit is subjective anyway, M3 is more purist focused, but they've long ago stopped being pure where as the ISF is just that a luxo sports barge with a lot of "raw" in it (considering it's a lexus) and it's not pretending to be something it's not like the M3. I like both, but your comment is out of place I'd get the ISF over the M3 |
When it comes to 4 doors Wayne, I would take is-f over m3 all day long. Coupe on the other hand. Plus too many m3 posers here |

Car looks great Vas! So who is working from home on this freezing rain day before the long weekend? School buses were cancelled so had to drop the minions off myself. SUV was encased in ice. |

Originally Posted By: Chocolate Canuck It might be a nice drive, but it loses when it goes up against an equivalent year M3. Wait what? No it doesn't. The 2013 isf has revisions specific for fine tuning it for track duty and Toyota has tested it to be faster on their test track as well as the ring. I dunno if this is badge snobbery or what but the later model isf is better than m3 around a track. Hack, a mustang GT is nearly as fast. Take the m3 off that pedistal you hold it to XD |
Toyota has tested , no badge snobbery involved, I guess they had to fix the fake exhaust in the previous model that I remembered. How do the current 2016 models compare? |

Lol new ones get dominates by BMW. New one doesn't even have the performance of a 340 |

Will have to brush off the car one last time tomorrow...hopefully. |

Lulz. This weather has been so wonky. |
Swapped to my summers 2 weeks ago. Thank god I have today off! |
Few cars in ditches Everything went better than expected |
only took me 5 extra mins still got my snows on. that and 4wd made it a normal drive for me. also, i'm not an idiot of a driver... that helps a lot |
mid week there's another bit of snow coming, and maybe on the weekend too. And the roads were still shit this morning, looks like the city literally stopped paying the plows in april. WTF |
I was averaging 80 km/h on 401 West last night coming home. Some car had the 4 ways on going at 60 km/h on the far right lane. Really people?? I hold out swapping out the winter, the S is still hibernating until end of April. Winter, go away now! |
WTF this is horrific. I swapped to my summers long ago, then i swapped back to winters XD |
Driving in the rain on the 401 Thursday night was way worse than the snow coming back home last night. |
I was glad I still had my snows on Friday night, we went into London for dinner and on the way back it was a bit icy, we came over a bridge and two people had hit eachother, everyone slammed on their brakes and I was the only one who thankfully stopped completely under control. I kid about summers, I'm usually the last person to put them on. May long weekend. |
Left the Blizzaks on luckily. |
lmao.. based on weathernetwork, end of next week looks promising. |
laziness paid off since i left my winters on. got caught in that snow storm yesterday evening coming back from mahhhhhkum. of course i saw a benz c300 4 mattic with bald all seasons hit a patch of snow in the left lane of the 407 and spin out all the way across the hwy to the right lane. |
two friggin genesis' got stuck at MajorMac and Bathurst this morning. one appeared to have gone into the median, and the other was obviously slammed, stanced and on summers, couldn't get off the line. no big deal, just holding up the rest of the world. |
Why would you leave your house in a car on summers, smalled and stanced in this weather I actually took my winters off mid march, and then put them back on. Mother nature teased us with 18 degree weather beginning of March. |
Was off today. Let the wife drive he M2 to work since the all seasons are basically new. Switched my winters out 2 weeks ago lmao!!! Btw, she hates it |

I sent this pic to a friend who is vacationing in Dominican. Replied with this |

Put my summers on mid march because I had the wheels off anyway servicing my brakes, put the winters back on 2 weeks later because I had to drive to Newmarket after that ice storm. Was gonna take them off again last weekend but got lazy and I'm glad I did lol. I LOVE winter....but it can fuck off now. |

Have fun with that drive. My Falkens hated the 0* wet weather, snow would have been tragic. |

*Supposed* to warm up later today, maybe rain so this shit should be gone. |

told jew guys, never swap until the last week of April at the earliest. |

still too early? [img] |

Anyone still on their winters? Itching to put my summers on now but have to dig them out of the garage behind a bunch of boxes. Hopefully can get to it this weekend. |
I am, gotta get some new summer/AS tires. |

Installed mine on Sunday. They're fucking dead as shit though, so I have to decide if I'm going to replace them or just buy a different car #ThatsTheCSIWay |

Did both my cars last week. Wife's car is in for service so doing them now. |

just ordered summer stickies for the RRRrrrr...dd/lapping. normally i'd do a 200 treadwear tire but time to try something more "fun". i was actually surprised they still even make this one, been around forever. http://www.yokohama-online.com/design/yokohama/images/tyre_images/all/ADVAN_A048_Product_Picture.jpg such. hardcore. much. low is on the way...i'm waiting for ups like he's santa or something. |
^ which setup did you end up going with? |
i ordered the D2's. main reason is because you can adjust the height by the bottom and not the collar on the shock so you can lower it while keeping full shock travel for a smoother ride. |
5 Days into April, who will be the first to bite? |
lol...still (as always) too soon jr. this friday will be some light snow even. anyways, i usually slap them on last week of april. |
I am tempted. Off this week. I have crappy all seasons so a little snow and low temps won't stop me. I may get my brakes serviced and let my mechanic do the heavy lifting. |

Oops! I wasn't trying to compare the two, rather I wanted to hear how the A/W tires performed. When these Contis go I can't see a reason not to get another set. |
Just finished polishing/waxing the 911. Might do an oil change on the beater and wait till this weekend to switch over to the all seasons. |
it's warm enough to wax gt3. must be summer. no one on summers yet? i've been on summers since....end of march full disclosure: i havent even been in the country doe XD |
frig that looks so good on those wheels. |
I waxed the 911 in the garage?!?!? Not like I was doing it outside. That said, I swapped the Mazda lol. |

Next few days, then I need to make an appointment with Jayayayyayayayayayaya |

polished/waxed and summers on |
Probably going to do mine on Saturday. As well as polish and wax the car. And then swap the wheels again at the end of the month when my new ones come in |
hngggggg dat s4. typically i'm not a fan of grey/silver but the depth you can get on the paint is cray. saturday i'm giving the tlx a stupid detailing. first chance to use some new detailing tools i just picked up, also slap the wheels on too. |
I changed my winters out this weekend that just passed. |
I don't have summers yet. |
So busy, there is usually a freak snow storm in April. Maybe i'll do it soon. |
Hmmm, where is that snowbrush? |
Hahaha. I woke up and was like wtf, the weatherman was actually right for once. |

Mofos need to turn on their god damn lights while driving on the highway... can't see the dipshits in the spray |
Followed a mofo in an Audi with its rear fog lights on. Annoying. Switched lanes instead of doing the rude high beam flash. |
that audi rear fog light is fucking annoying as fuck |
I don't think I've seen it - why is it annoying? |
Why is it annoying? This morning's drive definitely called for rear fog lights to be on. |
i was going to say...fog light on in reduced visibility....makes sense to me. |
Nope. Regular taillights were just fine this morning. rear fogs are like rearward facing highbeams. Except: 1 - unlike head on, which is over in a few secs, you're facing them a long time 2 - Unlike the guy behind you with HB, you can't flip your rearview mirror, or in my case, use the self-dimming mirrors to minimize the glare. |
maybe you should get yourself a pair of these they arn't THAT bright. after all it's just a 1197 or the like bulb without a projector so no, it's NOT like a high beam. |

this week is nice and warm, but weather forecast shows its going back to single digits next week.. so no tire swap yet.. |

Titty, yup the GT3 comes with coilovers and adjustable sway bars from the factory, I believe camber can be adjusted too. Lafora, thanks got lucky finding this one! Picking up the car soon. Ride height was out of spec by nearly 30mm lmao! Shit will look slammed, afraid I might scrape getting up my driveway. Will post pics later /ricer |

Maybe that's why the previous owner had it jacked up. Got a before and after side by side comparison? How much did it actually drop? Let me know when you go lapping in it. Want a ride on the track. |

That's all I got for side by side. You can see it was much higher before, according to the paper work it was dropped between 28mm to 32mm lol. Was not even before. |

And after driving the GT3 I am forever ruined, this car has set the bar really high now lol. |

Not the same level of course, but lightly modded E92 M3 when I want it, 2006 4Runner with 250000kms on it and a torn drivers seat for a daily. It's just easier day by day and I appreciate the M3 so much more. I totally get it. I love the V8, but this makes me want to drive a 997 to see what I think. |
Yup that's exactly how I feel. One of my favourite cars was the old 1998 civic si I had. It was a true beater and was a great feeling. It to have to worry about door dings and what not. A regular 997 drives nice but does not feel like the gt3 at all. Performance wise I would say a 997 carrera or S is similar to a e92 in terms of performance, it does of course have better dynamics, but doesn't feel balanced at all. Feels ass heavy all the time and then there's the engine... the s65 sounds amazing and has a smoother power build up compared to the flat 6. My dads S comes alive after 4K or 4500rpms and it feels like vtec. The GT3 is even more pronounced once it hits 4K. Take a 997 for a spin, but don't ever drive a GT3 unless you want it lol. I will never like driving my dads 997s again now. |

Want a ride on the track. basically trying to save a polyeu lip and sacrificing alignment doesn't make sense. I can see ride height ALONE, sure; but if the prev guy performed a DIY and measured off the fenders to an unlevel ground, then that's probably what ended up with all three being out of whack. |

GT3's are going up it seems. I'm conflicted and don't want to buy a drivers car at the high side of the market. Need more parking, and more funds. |

i don't see P cars' prices levelling off at a more reasonable rate like 5 years ago for the next few years. |

Pretty much every modern diesel needs all the emissions crap removed to run reliably and make power. I've been looking at 2010-2011 Gls and MLs and pretty much the exhaust fluid components will fail, the swirl vales will fail. Solution? Delete everything! I've also been looking at X5d s and it seems the EGRs crack. On my Jeep I did the DPF delete so I can run proper oil not the low ash stuff, and a retune to disable the EGR and swirl valves so the motor lives! And added a catch can to keep the oil out of the intake. |
