Went out for some white milk...
|
It's been a while.
My blue one was feeling a little down on power for the last little while and while researching aftermarket and tune up parts for it, I found that the 96-98 4.6L motors were Ford's bastard child of the generation. There was no support and there was little to almost nothing available for these motors. I approached a few Mustang tuners in and around the city (STEEDA, DaSilva, PSP Racing etc.) and it was recommended that I swap out the motor to a newer generation motor in order to achieve the power gains that I wanted. Total $18000. I decided to cut my losses short and by accident I found this sucker.
2001 Cobra SVT Convertible
65000 kms
Previous owner did not know what he had. After a some digging around and a few phone calls to Ford H/O, I found this out.
Ford was able to send me a copy of the build sheet and I found out my car was #918 of 3384 made for that year and 1 of 32 made in that colour combination.[/coolstarrybra]

Nope, had a budget and that's it (actually went $51 over). If i bid $100 more, then the other guy might have as well, and then we go back and forth and the next thing you know, you spent an extra grand or two (ask me how i know lol)

All cobra R's are rare.
they were only made in 93 95 and 00.
the early ones were only able to be sold to SCCA license holders or some such.
not sure about the 00. but regardless, 300 or less produced for each.
