Fucking bad day could've been much, much worse... Left the house 2 mins late, so I effectively missed my GO train... How do I know? I was stopped at the GO crossing with the lights flashing, barrier about to come down in about 5-10 seconds... Minivan comes screaming from behind, and I guess was about to rear-end me, he honked, and moose-maneuvered, passing me on the right... Clipped the gate holder thing, right front wheel went all wobbly and looked pushed back... Had he not swayed, he would have fucking smashed into me, pushing me onto the tracks, directly in front of the GO train |
which crossing was this??? 16th east of 48? |

Woke up to low tire pressure (almost flat) on the passenger front wheel this morning (I pumped the air on Saturday morning). There must be a nail or something...Great way to start my Monday The drive wasn't bad but the average speed was 10 km/h lower than the actual posted speed limit |

When was the first snowfall last winter? I don't remember |
There was snow up here on Halloween last year, although it didn't stick around. I'd guess late Oct, early Nov. |
We had snow on Halloweens down here or up here too depends on where you are. |

$40 extra installed and balanced |

Seems a tad pricey since install is on top? I believe costco had xice xi3 in 17's installed after rebate for around $800 |

Cheapest blizzaks will cost over $900 installed and taxes in at Costco That size |

Yup, it snowed last night. Glad I got the snowblower ready to roll a few weeks ago |

Get to use my snowblower for the first time today. Gonna work from home. |

Didn't even have time to shovel the driveway ... Missed my first GO train this AM cuz my alarms didn't go off... 4-5 inches in Markham. GO parking lot was only half plowed. |

wfh today! |

the service manager got in front of someone, stopped their car, and helped the lady disengage her parking brake. Yes, this fucktard was driving with the rear tires locked up, and going sideways down the road. |

Wife's office is closed due to snow....lol wtf. I dropped the kids off to school and daycare with no issues. It will be above 0 degrees starting tomorrow until Weds so all this will be gone soon enough. |

Was going to wfh, forgot laptop at work last nigth Stayed in this morning, shoveled driveway, analyzed google traffic for an hour and then got to work in 20 minutes 407 |
Took me 1.5hrs to get here...normally 15 minutes. GAH! Stupid people. A fuel tanker was blocking the on ramp to the QEW where I normally get on so I had to drive across the damn city to get to the other one. Didn't get out of 3rd gear on the hwy, everyone was driving so damn slow. |

Coming home from the bar lastnight was interesting. |

Awd, good winter tires, snow mode, heated steering wheel and seat on made for a comfortable commute. Heated steering wheel is the best - never cared for it before but now after having one I want one for every car. This car is pretty damn good in snow I'm impressed however almost every other car on the road on the way in was pretty shitty lol. 20-30 min commute became 1.5hrs rolling along. |
Oh man, here we go again with heated steering wheels. Don't need it, have a garage to park my car in |
heated steering wheel is nice doe. I got up. looked at gogole traffic. nope.gif. Took my time. Shovelled then left. Still took me just over an hour. Co-workers left normal time. Took them 2.5 hrs. So I saved some time but still sucked. People were literally idling along in some spots. for no reason. GTF off the road. |

Originally Posted By: eddie _82 Oh man, here we go again with heated steering wheels. Don't need it, have a garage to park my car in It's not all about just not having a cold steering wheel. It's like heated seats - sure your seat isn't cold but better yet it's nice because it's warm. You also don't need a lot of things but doesn't mean it isn't better with them. |

I took the 407 to work this morning, 407 was fine. But Mississauga Road was bad with the uphill south of Queens St. I took the side road but it was not plowed at all, pretty brutal even I have winter tires on a stock height Civic. A retard on 407 lost control and did a 360 in front of me, good thing I saw it right away and put my flasher on and cars behind me slow down. 407 was clean and plowed, straight road. Not sure how the dude spun out. I blame it on All Season tires |

condo life FTW don't have to shovel took me a bit over an hour to get to work. not too shabby. +1 or 2 or 1000 on heated steering wheel. it's a nice touch that's for sure. i'm like one of 5 ppl left on my floor. cranking the Glee Christmas playlist on full blast off my laptop. gonna take off early today to beat traffic. pick up a new pair of boots since i found out today my boots are cracked lol and then cook up a batch of chili. |

Sounds similar to what people said about putting in Lucas oil, and/or a heavier weight oil. All it does is 'mask' the symptoms... I'll bring the bitch into the dealer for a valve adjustment. Last time I had it adjusted at a indy mech, I don't even know if they did the work or not Originally Posted By: c2k Originally Posted By: furball Engine's ticking, even when stored in the garage Either I need another valve adjustment, or FML bent valve? we did that to my buddy's beater when his valves were ticking quite loud. Funny you mention that, I've already priced that out In my case it's worth it since it's over 1k sq. ft. of driveway I have to shovel. Thinking of doing the solar thermal setup with some hot water tanks for dat efficiency |

Current temperature is minus 5C, minus 10 with wind chill Toronto police estimate a collision approximately every three minutes across the city, with more than 140 collisions since 5 a.m. Snowfall warnings have been issued across much of southern Ontario, including: Dufferin-Innisfil, York-Durham, Halton-Peel and Niagara regions. Fuck snow. Shoveled for 2 hours. and...I felt something happening going into Walmart. Parked the car and noticed the lip missing. I said Fuck it, and went in. 5 minutes later my buddy texted me with a picture of my car. I told him that I lost my lip somewhere. He said he saw it on the road and almost ran over it and went back to pick it up, and drove back with my lip on his roof. and this guy, the riced out TSX. This is where he was actually stuck, and was doing full throttle burn out to get out of that spot. |

Fuking tightwads driving expensive cars and cheaping out on winter tires, fuck you all. Fucking A3 spent 3 mins going fwd and reversing to get out of a tiny tiny 'hill' at the GO exit... Some Merc driving 40km/h on the road cuz he had no snow tires... He was balling, considering the car was uber clean with no salt, snow, or anything on it. You should be able to find a decent used blower that's a few years old for $350-$400.. A lot of the older blowers are better than anything you can buy these days. |

I sold my old 10HP snow blower for $220 last winter I hate the scums from Kijiji |
So I realized I have a slow leak on my passenger rear tire last night. My dad said he will take my car in this morning to have it look at. I left my house this morning and realized my dad's car has a flat on the passenger front tire. WTF batman? What a great way to start Friday, |

Bought a Toro snowblower for $530 a few months back and used it for the first time yesterday. Completed both my driveway and the neighbour's in 15 mins. Worth every penny... |
I've been holding off on a snowblower purchase for a few years because the value isn't there for me despite having the equivalent of a 6 car driveway to shovel, however the fact that you can be the neighbourhood hero and then have people "owe you one" seems to be totally worth it When we had that huge dump of snow last year, I started shoveling and wanted to die. Neighbour came by and offered me his snowblower, not gonna lie I was ready to go on my knees |
I am the neighbourhood hero with this: it's the perfect size, not too big and has yet to not handle anything. it's around $400. bad thing is that every few years you have to replace that paddle thing. |
How do you turn a washing machine into a snowblower? Warning, Spoiler: |
I love my Arien Snotek -- finished my driveway, sidewalk and cleared the snow mountain at the foot of my neighbour's driveway (street plow aftermath) in 20-25 min. |
I've got 2. One free (yardworks 32" with 10.5hp) and a older (1980's or so, Arien 26" with 7.5hp that I bought for $50 last year. Had to do some work on it, blown engine but the seller provided another working engine so I had to swap. If you are handy you can find some deals on older units and do some TLC and get them running like new again. |
My buddy makes a mint in the winter buying 'broken' snowblowers, fixing them up then reselling. Most of them that don't start need a $10 carb job, lol. Vas, if you buy a good snowblower it should last you 20 years.. There's no reason not to have one, unless you actually like shoveling snow. |
No space put it unless I leave it in the backyard somewhere. Debating if I should get a electric one (light, easy to carry) and install one of those retractable cord reels in the garage. |
If you don't get a lot of snow, electric would probably work fine. But if you get a dump, goodluck. |
Lnxguy and subloudz - any recommendations for an online site for parts ? Mine runs just fine but I know the friction plate is wearing out and not to mention I bent the shaft a couple nights ago arghhhh!! My blower now "hobbles" along |

I can't stand electric yard tools. I want to hulk smash the stupid battery operated edger for my lawn. Back at the old house in north York my Chinese neighbour had an electric snow blower and it went up in smoke the first season lol |

I was looking to get a Honda hs520 now hs720 and noticed this at the bottom of one of the sites. * Values do not include freight and PDI, License, insurance, registration, applicable taxes, levies and fees. Why do these charges need to be added? Sounds like what is added when you buy a car. |

The only thing you might be charged on top of tax is an assembly fee, although most places will waive that. |

TIL: Canada Goose Women's Parkas have built-in (elastic) shoulder straps, so that they can wear it 'like a knapsack' when they're in the mall, etc... The woman screams bloody murder and whines that she's melting whenever she's wearing her (non-CG) jacket in the mall, that doesn't have shoulder straps... Seems only 1 woman's model has it; none of the men's models have it |

did we even have the technology back then to see the temp? "feels like - 26c" light snow at 3 am.... i dont remember seeing that in the newspaper or tv... i still remember walking to school and walking over ice covered snow and it would crunch through some parts cuz it wasnt thick enough... |

I don't recall people going out in the middle of frozen winter with a regular water gun, shooting water in the air, and that shit just turns straight to powder/fog... |

i really want this CG jacket but for $700? shit anyone know where i can find a fake one? canada joose? |
i find it stupid funny retarded ppl actually buy 'fake' goose jackets, i mean sure get a fake for $150-200 vs. $600+ but you're buying a piece of crap that's not as warm as a different name brand winter jacket that would STILL be almost as good for that $150-200 range. - If you're gonna drop say $200 would you not just get a proper winter jacket that's will still do a great job and look good vs. something cheap/not as warm and fake? LOL i mean in T.O you can i guess get away with a fake since it isn't always cold here, but try that shit in Winnipeg and you'll freeze lol. oh, dont forget the shit that's in those fake ones...nasty. and there's also the poseur aspect...got me can'goose y0 |
meh, i like how it looks but i don't need a $700 jacket to walk the 2 mins from the parking garage to the door. |
And to Scream's point, to buy a real warm jacket (100% down), it will still cost $300+ for reputable brand. A lot of $100-200 range jacket are not real down, it is filled with 100% polyester and I don't find it as warm as a real down jacket. North Face down jackets are easily in the $350-500 range. Canada Goose is always $700+ Moose Knuckle is similar to Canada Goose Parajumpers is over $1000 |

A good alternative warm jacket would be a Northface jacket which can be almost comparable to a Goose jacket but with most Goose jacket has a higher cold tolerance than Northface. Ive been using Northface Jackets for years until recently my Wifee got me a Goose jacket... lets just say ... I'm never going back to my North Face jacket ever again Current jacket I have now which is the Borden Bomber (not your traditional Chilliwack which every china man and there mom has) Northface Gotham - which I used to have, none the less still a great jacket and can be found when its on sale for about $249 |

Same Juan - No hood fur - the hood is removable. |

I wear my ski jacket when it's extremely cold. Got it at half price near end of the winter a couple years back. It's light, durable, and water proof. There are way too many people in CG jackets. Unless they sell ones with black labels again, I won't be wearing it. |

For those of you who are poor I recommend the windriver parka from mark's. Regular is $300, on sale every winter between $99-$150. I've had mine for a few years now and use it on cold days like today, solid jacket, very good quality, it also has fantastic customer reviews. |

to be honest I don't own a winter jacket, best I have is a vest. Something is wrong with me but I hate dressing up to go out in this weather so I never use a jacket....the best I do is long sleeve and multiple t shirts if I have to snow blow or something. |
