A dude at a local Crappy told me to go to Napa for the exact match paint. Apparently they now scan or make paint off code at the spot and put in an aerosol can? So I went but they told me only the Brampton location does it. Anybody used them before? Who else mix paint in aerosol cans? |

I got it done 10+ years ago at Sherwin Williams. Was around $15 I think |

I get it all the time for my cars. I've fixed a number of vehicles with it, since I can't spray actual paint. Works good, around 25$. Your black will be easy. High metallic colours are very hard to match anywhere close. Edit: NAPA or Sherman Willis |

One of the Acura dealerships in Mississauga has it behind the glass counter in the parts dept... I think it was $60 though |

The shit from cawthra automotive is just a Shitty spray bomb. I've used it but the match usually sucks and it's acrylic. My recommendation after doing it myself. Go to carquest in Concord. Use your paint code and have the guy make you a can of real oem paint. It costs more but it's worth it. Don't match. Use your code. This will blend the best from everything I've seen. Buy a can of real clear and bobs your uncle. It will turn out way better and last much longer than that acrylic shit. It will be about $100 for the paint and clear. But it's way better If you are just spraying a front lip or something like that the spray bomb may be ok. Body panels? .do it right. |

I stopped by the SW in Scarborough a few months ago asking about it, cuz I used to get the cans way back when I had the civic, and the guys at the counter told me they only sell it to body shops/businesses and not the regular joe blow. Interested cuz I'm still looking to fix up some spots on my rear bumper. |

They're all going to be acrylic enamel, you're not going to be spraying urethane paint from a rattle can. civic13 is kinda right, you're not going to be able to buy real automotive paint without having a licence. |

No. Even if you give them your paint colour you will not never get an exact match. Like someone said for a black car it will be decent as it's easier colour to match (at least one of the easiest). Anything else, it will look like shit regardless unless blended properly, even then it's tough. Just saying. |

I agree overall but given the context of spray cans yo. Pls tell me more about how basf diamont I bought is acrylic. I'm telling you go to carquest in Concord. I wasted my time going to other places. I'm trying to save you the headache. Use the oem code. No scan for me matched my paint . Only the oem code worked. |

What I am saying is if you are doing an actual body panel repair it's best to go to a body shop. For a lip/side skirt or fixing up a beater use fucking tremclad...otherwise you are pissing your money away. I've yet to see a *decent* job that came out of a can. |

I have... it can and does work out well. Videos on YouTube showing great results too. |

Well, I started without acquiring the paint. I thought, fuck it, I just gonna use Rustroleum Glossy Black I bought at Homedepot the other day, but I think I'm gonna get the proper can and spray over when it's done. Too much rust, no point of putting. I sanded with 80 grit paper and chunks of metal fell off. It's kinda flat now with some indents. Then I gave it a coat with Rustcheck Rust Converter Tomorrow or Monday, I am painting with Tremclad Gloss Black Rust Paint. |

Not enough of a blend area bro |

Ya, I will move it up a little for the real paint. |

You really don't want a hard line in the middle of a panel either. YouTube some videos how to spray paint a panel. There are some helpful vids that will make a huge difference in the final product. |

Links if possible? I've got a job I'm willing to take a shot at before paying a pro. Problem is there's a little flake in it. |

$37 at Caquest Concord. A regular sized can. $16 clear coat. (some Canadian brand) This ghetto fix job is costing more money than what I have originally planned. |

Do all carquests do custom spray cans or only certain ones? |

Sherwin Williams in missisauga. Then head to my apartment for beers bro!! Seriously its $15 a can for oem paint code. I did my old civic urethane parts to colour match. I even bought the flex primer from them. |

I know it will Carquest offered both one stage and two stage paint. I didn't ask for the one stage price. |

You can't do anything, best is to use that rust inhibitor primer on the rust only, touch it up with paint, and then rust proof it. Should hold off for a while as long as you keep oiling it up. Doing this mickey mouse sh!t is a waste of time. |
i did this on my winter beater 92 accord i bought for 250 bucks... it looked better than the 4th gen accords who would show up at toronoaccord meats LOL i sprayed the inside rear fenders with a shitload of oil and it was ok for the first winter... drove the car to montreal, chicago (almost made it in one tank!!!)... and sold it for 500 bucks |

shouldve just hit the rust with bed liner or anti rust paint. |

Here's a pretty good vid of a paint job fix with cans http://youtu.be/gw3SEiCf2UY |

Nice video. I have failed, then recovered. 3 coats of clear. Modany like 7 more top of that. Today I bought another can of clear today. I know there is orange peel but I don't own a buffer to polish that off. I used a $16 can of clear coat, but they also had $26 catalyst aided cans that only last for 48 hours. You punch in a small rod at the bottom, then it only lasts for 48 hours after that. I probably have used that if they had told me when I went there the first time. Another guy showed it to me today. |
Sand paper would have taken care of the orange peel. And always use a 2 stage clear (But you'll need a mask) |
The two stage clear is the way to go. You can get some amazing results from a can |
