I know what it's like in the US and have lived there. We are NOT becoming like ths US. Otherwise I'd be 6 feet under right now if I had to pay out of my ass for medical treatment here in Canada.

So in one thread, we are complaining about kids not showing respect to teachers, and in this one, we are saying lets throw basic manners out the window. People can dress on the train, whats next clipping their nails?

How do you think these standards start to slip?

Oh, and about the US medical, if you have insurance, there are things that are covered there that are not covered by any provincial plan. Most of my team is in Chicago/New York. We talk about the differences on an almost daily basis. My functional manager in Chicago told me about a genetic disease that was covered for his cousin, where as no treatment here was approved. If you can afford insurance (work pays for it), then you can bypass the stupidity that happens here.

I'm not saying their health care system is better, its not, when 30 million Americans have no coverage, but you absolutely cannot find the specialist here that you can find in the US. Even politicians go to US doctors to get treated.
