If condo prices soften, house prices can't be far behind. I've even noticed that cottage prices are softening too (rubs hands gleefully) |
Condo's are shit. I have no idea how this stuff just continues. That being said, I'm still happy I bought the one I did buy. |

So when are you upgrading to the detached single family dwelling in leslieville, or off moore, or laird/eglinton. |

This reminds me years ago, when my friend went to the Mid-Autumn light festival (or whatever) at Ontario Place... I had Choco's pics on my monitor, and he said 'I saw that guy, some big black dude hogging the whole place with a camera on a monopod'. Rent is too low in Toronto, prices have to drop a lot before I'd be buying a place to rent out, but by then, so will everyone else. Got my MPAC assessment last night. |

Townhouse condo FTMFL What's the point? Might as well live in a condo. |
Garage and backyard are two reasons. |
^^ But thats why you don't want a house, who wants to cut grass? (or have to pay to get it done). Worst of both worlds |

I'm not one for backyards...but a garage is nice to have. |

Just do the Asian thing and put interlock in your backyard. Originally Posted By: Hatorade I'm not one for backyards...but a garage is nice to have. |

wtf you can park cars in the backyard too? PIMP |
I have 2 parking spaces in garage, 1 on driveway, and 2 beside garage so I don't plan on parking in the backyard but I do have double 4' gates that does allow a car/SUV to enter the backyard. |

Man, if I was only born 5 years earlier like most of CSI I'd probably be on the verge of retirement at this point in my life. /true story How times have changed for us Gen Y's. FAWK |

Man, if only I invested my allowance in Apple instead of candy when I was 5 I would be on the verge of retirement too! /pointless argument #2 |

Just saw on the new that the Mr. Christie plant in Etobicoke is closing down for a new condo development. Srsly, how many condos can this city support? Quote: When the old Mr. Christie’s Bakery closes in 2013, for 550 workers, many of them from families with a decades-old history of mixing, baking and packing biscuits, the shutdown is the end of the line. Mondelez Canada, a new entity that emerged this October from the split of Kraft’s North American operations, hopes to rezone the industrial-use land at Lake Shore Blvd. W. and Park Lawn Rd. for mixed-use development, including a concept for 27 condo towers http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article/...ndo-development http://www2.macleans.ca/2012/11/01/toron...es-out-of-work/ |

Same... keep in mind, there are many people in their 20s and 30s still living with their parents. They will either continue to live with their parents or suck it up and buy a small box in the sky. EVERYONE (well not everyone) is waiting for the market to crash. |

not everyone has the luxury of parents giving them downpayments and/or buying them places outright. |

Infidelity, conflict/abuse or financial I'd say are the main reasons... I think whether it's complicated or not depends on the perspective tho - if you're the one in the situation, it's never simple, but looking from the outside, it's easy to oversimplify. |
