there is a place in chinatown that i go to they're legit and offers wicked competitive prices. i got a pair of SALT optics with Nikon lens for $500 everything in. and they sold me a pair of gucci sunglasses listed for $320 (there, and everywhere else) for $250 and it didn't make much "bargaining"....i was in and out of the store in 15 mins! let me know if you're interested! |

I buy my shit online, it's a way better option considering todays exchange rates. |

+1 on buying online. |
how do you buy sunglasses online tho? how do you know how it would fit, and how it would look on your face? or do you shop for it offline, and then buy 'em online? |
why? That's what medical benefits are for you tools Wifey picked up Gucci sunglasses that were $350usd in NYC for $300 and got it "covered" by her benefits. |

+1 for Pac Mall... I've personally never done the whole 'online' thing, especially if you need a 'receipt' for claims purposes. Just be wary of what kind of sunglasses you buy - I bought some ghey Gucci sunglasses that are held up by 2 screws to the nosepiece. Needless to say, I have spider-cracking since that's the ONLY connection point, and well, sunglasses don't want to bend like wata. I also go to one in downtown Chinatown called 'Bu Quang', they're like right beside the Italian embassy(?)... My family kinda knows them. |

you sure you actually got authentic Gucci's buddy? They are actually pretty high quality. |

Unless you're telling me that fakes are made in the same factory as well. |

Oakely I bought years ago was $70 cheaper at Pacific mall than Sunglass Hut. Another pair I looked at a couple months ago, Pac mall was $20-30 cheaper than Oakley store. |

no.. as in, i don't have any eye-care at all.. anywhere in my company handbook. |

^oh. ok you getting jew'd then. lol |

Dental Plan! which is actually pretty good and comprehensive.. |
Seriously, I have no idea how to tell whether they're fakes or not, but I bought them at PacMall... I'd imagine it is the design, as I've seen another brand with similar spider-cracking Originally Posted By: c_snapper Originally Posted By: Elmie Originally Posted By: c_snapper Originally Posted By: Elmie you sure you actually got authentic Gucci's buddy? +1 for Pac mall and claiming through benefits... |

went this weekend to get teh hooman some glasses. covered for $200 each, she ended up getting a $698 pair of coach glasses for $400 covered under her part and the rest under mine. pac mall for winning. |
jesus h christ. $700 for a pair of coach glasses? How bad is her prescription? |
^oh that was before they looked at her prescription which aparantly was pretty bad in one eye. |
That means these were not straight up 'sunglasses' ... i.e. they have prescriptions in them. PacMall sometimes also 'fake' the receipt..... Originally Posted By: Flexin5 ^oh that was before they looked at her prescription which aparantly was pretty bad in one eye. |

sorry, should have clairified. at first she wanted a pair of these other glasses (can't remember the name) and there was $100 left over. i was going to get a pair of CK sunglasses, they were going to write me a prescription as i don't wear glasses. instead, they wrote me a prescription, and used that money toward her glasses. flippin scams.lol |
update i went ahead and bought a pair at sunglass hut, pac mall is too far and i don't benefit from a prescription receipt; job doesn't cover it. the thing is though they were hard up on not giving me the box that usually comes with a pair of oakleys, which i thought was weird... do they usually sell without the box? i would imagine some people would want that for a gift. |
Hmm, that is weird. Not for nothing, but I would report that to their head office. Sounds like something fishy going on. Heck even all the stores in Pacific Mall give you the fancy cases and boxes. For all you know the sales person is pulling some scam and selling them to others. Or they could be swapping real pairs of glasses with fakes, selling the fakes through the Sunglass Hut and selling the real ones on the side. Or it could just be the sales person is an idiot. |

at the very minimum, when you buy from pac mall or chinese glasses store, they don't charge you GST & PST |

It's cramped in there and always full with people but the staff know their shit and will hook you up with good prices too. They have a great selection of glasses that are different from the standard brands. |

I get mine for dirt cheap from China. Polarized, blue blocker, prescription lenses for ~$100 3 years ago. Yeah, no fancy brand name. I use them mostly for driving and boating. They work just fine. |

Worst than a flee market. I bought my glasses last year from them. |

Got a pair of Tom Ford glasses with lens for $250 last month @ P mall. I have my benefits through Sunlife @ work, appearently, insurance companies are SUPER TIGHT. No fooling around with dates or anything. Deals are still great though. |

bump I must be doing something wrong bc I was at pac mall last weekend with 4 diff stores trying to get a pair of oakleys but they wouldn't give me an invoice for me to claim onto my benefit. I guess white privilege doesn't help in this case. |

Even if the (sun)glasses you're buying do not have a prescription, you still need to show one in order for them to give you a receipt so that you can claim it against your benefits. |

I get mine at Ivan optical at first Markham place. They cut their glass in house. I normally get my prescription glasses next day |
