For those who care heres a bunch of pictures of whats been happening with the 70 datsun 510 that we got for my little brother, it should be painted in about 1-2 weeks (what color?) who knows? but it should look nice, just that we are curently waiting for my cousin to finish some rust spots he found

My brother and I sanded the whole car down got it ready for body work.

After that it was time to strip the car and let the body work begin.

Interior was stripped and will be sanded to clean it up a bit. Then will be sprayed with Quiet Car

We had to pressure wash the whole inside of the car to get out dirt, and we spayed some 409 cleaner to get any oil out, that way the quiet car stuff would go on easy

After the first coat of quiet car, we will still put one more but we have to let it dry

Well as u may know i have a 2000 Si but my little brother just got a new old car, i have to help him getting looking good its a 1970 Datsun 510. From what ive seen they are kinda rare hard to find, we seen a lot of good ones for sale but super expensive. This ones a fixer-uper need some more parts mostly interior (ebay) and some body work (uncle) and paint (cousin). The motor is an L18 car runs and handles great. Ill try and post updates as we get it restored. Mostlikely it will get a SR20DET but who knows, if u know anyone or any place were i cand find parts let me know (like a stock tach). Thanks
cool i've always liked seeing pics of done up datsun 240Z and 510's. using a rock as a wheel chock = ghetto, but at least you have a good one in the rear.
ha ha ha o well were broke after the 510 purchase i already started getting interior parts for the car, thank for the good comments about the car, its a bad ass car i wish it was 100% mine

Man, nice pick up. That is one of the nicest old school cars you can get IMO. That car is certainly on my list of wants. I really like the lines of body. Nice find and enjoy.

Damn been driving this car arround, i wish it was primered that way it doesnt look so ugly but its damn quick for an 37 old car, spins the tires in 3rd gear but having no rack and pinion sucks
well most likely it wont be an SR20 maybe KA24. The SR is to much money to get installed lets just say its about 10 grand to get it working right with all the fabrication, parts and work. So we think it might be better to go with the KA24de that motor can be dropped right in with a little work plus it can be moddified to be faster also but we just wanted for a fun daily driver
