ick, not really...

Word of advice...DONT cheap out on parts for your car. If you dont have enough money now, save up for something nicer. Itll be much more worthwhile in the end. Or save it for your future, youll thank yourself later.

part of the reason just a muffler sounds so "ricer" is usually because the vehicles owner has not replaced the exhaust piping and if the piping is crush bent, not mandrel bent then there will be alot of turbulence going through the muffler, creating a harsher, higher tone than a smoother flowing exhaust sytem would. I recommend Magnaflow Cat-Back, its great, not to expensive, 430 I believe, and its pretty quiet unless at WOT (wide open throttle)

I have the Magnaflow cat-back with a high flow cat. It is a very deep tone, not too loud, but loud enough to hear it when it is idling. I really like the sound that it makes.

How much are you gonna spend on an exhaust system? If you just want a nice tone, you could always just get a Greddy system. DNX has never been very popular amongst civic owners.

Another thing alot of cheaper companies won't include that attributes to the "ricer" sound is a resonator.

Tanabe Racing Medallion = very fart can sounding and raspy, not to mention it looks like it should have been discontinued in the 90's.

Greddy sounds nice, I have a Greddy EVO2 on mine and I love it despite it being rather large. If you want a near-stock sound and look until you go WOT, check out the RS*R EXMAG exhaust.

I had a Tanabe Racing Medalion about 3 years ago. IMO it sounded great, it wasn't loud or raspy at all (nowhere near as nasty sounding as my spoon n1 muffler). It did look like ass though, and the coating on the pipes was all flaking off so I sold it. Rsr ex mag should be here today or tomorrow .

I really don't like how big the tip is on the Greddy Evo. It sounds nice and everything, but the tip just draws attention in general. I have always loved the sound of my Greddy Sp as it is only loud when I really get on it.

I have a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler on my Sol and I really like the deep sound it has. Thinking of putting one on my "new" Si when I have the $$. Not terribly fancy or anyting but I like it.

I just went with the Gredy EVO 2 and although it is a little more obvious (given the tip) it sounds phenominal. There was a post in the Performance section I/H/E Faq and there is a post that shows pictures and write ups just scroll down. It was the reason I went with the EVO2

I have the DNX catback system on my SI from summit-racing.com and it has a nice deep tone that isn't real loud until you open it up, some people say it has kind of a subaru sound.

I but a Axile back Apexi N1 exhuast on and it is not that loud i was wondering if i get an exhaust shop to cut off the resonator and put a straight piping if that would make it louder.

If you want your car to have a deep low rumble you have to put a bigger engine in the car... Like a K20/K24a2- FTW! Before I did the engine swap I had the good ole Rs*R. Best sounding exhaust out there in my opinion-Go with the Rs*R- they even made it stainless now!
