Powertec Full Cage (includes dip bars, chin bar) with Lat attachment (high and low pulley)

Also picked up a spin bike off of overstock for $307 shipped!

I have alot more to add to my home gym to make it as servicable as I'd like but it's a start. I am picking up about 300lbs of weight, some bars and an adjustable bench from my BIL soon. I'll need some cable attachments (rope, D-rings etc) as well as a bunch more weight.

A lot of $$ spent already with more to come, all with the intention of lowering monthly revolving debt and freeing up time to workout and spend more with the fam.

Good for you dude. I've contemplated a weight room in the basement for awhile now.

Have you used the rack yet? Be curious how solid it is and what you can find them for cost wise.

I don't think intensity will be an issue. I'll be rocking some old punk and metal and moving some weight. Wifey is going to be working out too so I'll have her pushing me. I need so much stuff!

Good kill. I recently bought a weight set and power rack from a buddy for $200. Only thing that sucks is that my ceiling is too low to lift a barbell with 45lb plates on it overhead.

I think I am unable to do standing military BB in my basement too. A bit of a bummer for one of my favorite exercises but no biggie.

Let me state for the record that the decision to get a home gym has nothing to do with avoiding gym goers.

Good choice, I love the IronMasters. You're going to need the add-on kit to bring it up to 125lb though you beast

Yeah I know it. That'll be a birthday/anniversary/christmas type gift though. THe 75s will be enough for non presses. I'll sacrifice a little by capping out at 125lbs but it'll get th job done \:\)

As an aside, the Leverage machine I am picking up tonight has high and low pulleys so I am cancelling my Lat tower option on my rack. It also has the same "utility bench" i was looking at for my rack. The Lat tower saves me $250 and the bench would have cost $275. SO I am paying $400 for both plus the leverage exercises and 355lbs of weight. Win.

It just keeps growing!!!!!!!!!! CL score last night netted me a powertec leverage LS with preacher and leg attachments, another 355lbs in weight (770 total now), a million cable attachments etc.

Big boy adjustable dumbells and storage for the plates and attachments are up next.

Thanks dude, it's coming together pretty quick thanks to wifey being on the same page (ie:supportive and freely accepting $$$ spent), my BIL hookign it up lovely with the FID bench and weights and that big CL score. Wifey has already committed to the Ironmaster dumbells. The LS machine allowed me to cancel the Lat Tower option for the rack ($250 saved) so the dumbells are a go. \:\) More to come I'm sure \:\)

So how about the Powertec rack quality? Have you had some big weight racked yet? I know bolting the rack down helps tremendously with stabilizing it too but still nice to have good solid metal even before you bolt it.

Thanks guys. Nismo, I've only thrown 225 on it so far. Tonight is legs so I'll stretch it into 3 plate territory and see how it feels. Art you think wood under the whole rack?

Ty, p90x is going to be huge for us to supplement the weight training. I can't wait to give it a shot. Thanks again.

a few more additions coming to my gym:

Tonight i am picking up a weight tree and Tricep Bar from CL for $75. Thursday I am picking up hex DBs from 30-80lbs with an Olympic camber bar for $250. I also have some spring collars and ab straps cooming from amazon. It's coming together nicely. I'll post pics when I get everything.

All this stuff is gone. We moved it down to GA with us 5 years ago, it went in the garage and I never used it. I sold it all on craigslist soon after.

Sad really ,that was such a badass setup.

I had DB up to 80lbs, a FID bench, a ton of OLY weight, everything a girl could ask for. I wish I kept it but I did not/do not think I have the discipline to work out regularly at home.

I have that exact same power rack except in black. It's great. I think you will be happy with it.
