I especially love that you 'grip it and rip it' (I know that's how it's supposed to be done but it's not always that easy I feel....). I see too many dudes that take way too long to pull after setting up. To be fair I find myself doing that in the later sets of heavy triples but I try to set up and rip it quickly.

To be honest I removed deadlifting completely from my last training cycle, it was re-introduced these last 6 weeks. Mainly just been doing dumb bell straight legged deadlifts, seal rows, and straight legged deadlifts. Lots of stuff to build my back and hamstrings, I was tempted to pull 575 last night since it was loaded on a friends bar but I don't like wasting energy during a week where I'm testing every lift.

I actually used to grip and rip, the problem was I was grabbing with my fingers and not my palms. It worked out pretty well in the high 400's but once I got into the 500's I knew I had to start using my palms.
I make sure that one hand is slightly rotated over and one slightly under so when I pull both hands torque down onto the bar and it basically eats my hands alive. Just got to adapt to the shit pain lol. They were pretty useless for everything after...
Also some people like to breath at the bottom I like to take a huge breath in at the top and hold it. You get way less air in at the bottom.
