Sir Ironpool Sir Ironpool Sponsored by Toyota Post Master Supreme Registered: 03/12/01 Posts: 71803 Loc: Long Beach, CA	Short sprint race in Seal Beach this morning. Finished 2/54 in my age group and 10/365 overall. 1/2 mile ocean swim, 7 mile bike, and 2.1 mile run in deep sand. Swim went decent, averaged 22mph on the bike on a super narrow bike path with lots of no passing zones, and the beach run kicked my ass, but only got passed by one person...a professional chick. $\:D$ 56:35 was my final tOh, and the best part, 2 time Ironman World Champ Chris McCormack was racing! _________________________

Ive tried it on stupid whims on vacation (oh Ill wake up at 6AM and go for a beach run watching the sun rise derp) like 200meters in my arches, achilles and shins feel like they are going to explode. As I think about it... thats barefoot, which might be the issue? Or just a total lack of training? _________________________ Ignore list: bigal, DM, FortCollins, cheesegoggles. Don't bother talking to me, I wont see it.

I know people that run every single day on the beach with no issues. I started doing it 2 weeks ago to get used to it and after the first day I was pretty sore, but it got better quick. I'm not feeling any more soreness than I do after any other race. _________________________
