So...I love candy. Seriously...I'm like an 8 year old when it comes to candy. I eat a good amount of it. My training offsets most of it though. Even though I haven't tried all that hard, I've never got lower than 157 pounds...currently 162. The goal is to get to 150. Starting on the first of this month I've cut all candy from my diet. No other changes at all, just no candy. I'm also doing a 30 day running streak. I've done this before and it's fantastic for boosting performance. I'm thinking I should see some good results.

I'll report back on the 31st. \:D

Good luck man!
I have done several running streaks and it just doesnt work for me, after 2 weeks or so it feels like a chore and I start not enjoying myself.
I think my running really benefits from the occasional day off.

yep, I had to completely eliminate sweets... I mean... a candy bar has like 300+ calories, not one of them being remotely beneficial.

I was doing a slice of angel food cake with some coolwhip and strawberries for a while.

but for the sake of achieving goals faster, I decided to discontinue that. as it went though, it was a decent compromise of sweets with atleast simple pure carbs and some protien with no fat.

I carb-loaded for a century and then didn't ride it (That was the day I rode 31 and crashed). I gained 3 lbs last week as a result. \:\(

I think you'll scream toward 150 with that minor tweak.

I'll be curious to see your progress.

If you were fat I'd say that those calories probably add up significantly

but you're not, and from what I know, your diet isn't even a huge concern, you just race train.

I'm betting you see a negligible gain/loss from this change without a change in something else as well.

I love Dove chocolate. It's something that was kinda pushed on me from the girls I date and hang out with. Every time they are on their period we have to go out for Dove. I'm single and hang out with a lot of girls. So basically I'm eating Dove everyday because their periods land on each week of the month, lol.

He eats pretty clean as is, but with a huge calorie expenditure already only thing really is going to change would be active insulin levels with the removal of the sucralose and fructose but I believe Chris also is addicted to diet coke so it's not completely removed.

Yeah, I've never really kept track of the calories (lol I'd avoid eye contact with the nutrition label) as it was mostly in the form of those fun sized candy bars and Laffy Taffy. Its too easy to put away way more than you think you are when doing it that way though. I guess it will be pretty easy to calculate a rough estimate of how many calories I avoided this month.

Of course, I'll probably run an extra 30 miles this month due to the lack of rest days.

Totally scientific, as you can see. \:D

I have junked on candy once or twice a week for the past few weeks. I love real fruit gummi types, starburst, and chocolate almonds. Yesterday I must have eaten 1,000 cals in candy alone but I'm still dropping weight from 159 to 152 over the last 4 weeks.

Midway through, and I'm at 157. Have done 15 runs in the last 15 days, and haven't touched a piece of candy. \:D This past week I ran 45 miles, and am at 87 miles for the month. I should hit 50 miles this week, and hopefully 55 the following.

157 is where I'm at....and I was successful in not eating a single piece of candy. \:D

I am looking leaner than I ever have, and I ended up running 33 times in 31 days for a total of 203 miles.

Thinking of extending the running streak another month.

I only managed 155 on the damn BIKE and you topped 200 running. Cripes.

Good work.

Congrats on cutting the sweets out.
200 miles in a month is pretty crazy. I've probably ran less than that in the last 12-18 months!
I guess I did manage that as training for a 1/2, but across 3months, and I'm well removed from that.
