My Mom borrowed my '00 Si and filled it up with gas for me, but she put in 87. Is this ok for it? I don't notice that much difference in the engine smoothness. I consulted the manual and it says that it's ok and that the computer will adjust. That said, is it ok to use 87 or 89 all the time?? The higher cost of premium fuel is a bit annoying. Thanks for any info! This is the US Si (SiR in Canada). ------------------ Tristan Tom aka Mediahound ---------------- 2000 FBP Si K&N Filtercharger Yokohama AVS Intermediate tires

91 OCTANE OR BETTER.. PERIOD! RTFM.Just drive easily until this tank is gone to avoid any detonation, but the computer should hopefully set it to accomodate the rat piss she put in there. ------------------ Rich in Central PA '99 EBP Si "I still can't believe we escaped from those horrible vampires!" If it says it's ok in the manual, I'd trust what it says, I mean, wasn't it written by the people who MADE the car? But as for me, the only time I'll put a lower grade of gas in is when I'm on long roadtrips, when I'm not going to be using VTEC or anything. It's not going to do anything to your car, you're ECU will adjust it so that there is no detonation.------------------ "You daughter, she come over to my house, come on my property and she kicked my dog, now he needs operation" AIM: JeffsSi1 OHIO FORUM!!!

no 87 is not good. you run the risk of detonation. even when you open the fuel door it says premium unleaded gasoline. 87 is not premium. besides the car must run like shit. I only use 93 or 94.

Premium is actually quite inexpensive right now...around 1.50 a gallon here in So Cali. I might start mixing in a couple of gallons of 100 octane race gas with my 91 to up the octane rating since my car is turbo....------------------ 2000 Civic Hatchback Team *SOHC* It
