So my wife has her eye on a Purple Mazda3 5door, 5spd Touring model. Besides it being a lot better than her current ride (00 Stang convt auto v6), any reason to talk her out of the Mazda3?
It drives nice, kinda slow (to me), and the interior was impressive for a cheap car. Focus engine makes me nervous though
lol at kinda slow.
I don't know ANYONE who wouldn't consider an 11 second 0-60 time dog shit slow. I hope that thing has all the handling finesse of a ballerina to be that slow.

They're THAT slow?? wow... even my Celica is faster than that.

11 seconds? Where the hell did you get that? Try 7.5. Yeah they're not that quick but they're fun and like Impulsive said they're the nicest car in their class.

btw. not a focus engine. focus engines don't have variable valve timing, and aren't assembled in japan

27k miles, no rotor warpage, 2.3S sedan. AC is a little weak, but once you're moving it cools very nicely.

I think they are high 7's low 8's 0-60 (in the 16 second 1/6 mile area).
Mazda 3's are still the nicest car in their cateogry IMO.
According to edmunds its 11 seconds. Shrug.
That seemed REALLLLLY slow for 160ish hp but I didn't really question it, for whatever reason.
Lol 7.5 would make WAY more sense.

When i think about it, this is obviously true, But i just happened to read it, was like "wow wtf" and moved on.
In conclusion the Mazda3 is a great package for what you get. I just found an SP23 Sedan which was a special edition in 05.
Grey, with navi, Heated leather seating, 5speed, HID's, Bose stereo, etc.
For 15,800 with only 30k on the clock.
How can you go wrong for what you get?
I'm slightly tempted, but i want something classier/quicker.
I fell in LOVE with the 03 Volvo S60 T5 I drove today. Such a great car.
too bad the dealer is a dickhead, and the car was a lease and has been in an accident. FTL.
GOing to look at an 01 with 68k S60 T5 for 11,800$ on thurs.

Get the 4 door. They're very nice econocars, nicest in that price range, I agree with Impulsive. No other cars in that class offer HIDs, navi and the likes for around 19k. power is adequate for daily duties, engine is smooth, interior doesn't feel low rent. exterior styling is tasteful. Thumbs up.
If the mazdaspeeed 3 came in the 4 door body style I'd probably like it even more.

Look at the Mazdaspeed version for more horsepower, since you're already looking at a 5-speed model.
