Just thought I would share a few of the pics I have snapped during my week at Disney World so far. I rented the Nikon 14-24MM from Kingdom Camera Rentals for 6 days just to have some fun and see what it could do. It's a neat lens and I had a rather steep learning curve with it. I ended up just using the lens on Manual mode since I had some trouble getting the focus down right when I had a close up subject in front of a far away background. The Instruction manual for the lens even mention this problem. So I used manual focus with depth of field preview to try to get a better shot. Anyways, here are some of the better pics I got. None of them have been touched up yet though. Any tips on using this lens? I'll be there one last night for the Mickey's Christmas Party thing.

Love the fountain pic! You should have moved in a bit close for the 'Bruce' pic.. With a UWA you can get right up close and get some pretty cool shots.

Don't ever do closeups of people with a wide angle. Make sure people aren't on the edge of the frame. Other than that, wide angles are super fun!
As long as you keep the person in the middle of the frame like you mentioned, distortion is more then manageable with a UWA.
Although make sure you're not a bridesmaid at a wedding Scott is shooting

Although make sure you're not a bridesmaid at a wedding Scott is shooting Hey now, spotch and I were talking about that shot a couple weeks ago and I went back and looked at it. It wasn't my lens that made her look bad... It's not my fault she was the only big girl in a small people's party.
ROFL I remember that one. But no really Scott, I know you love the lens and all that, but look at the guy on the right too. I know his head isn't shaped like that in real life lol. Shots like this are what keystone perspective correction is for.

One last pic from the Christmas Party last night. I didn't take many pics last night, but rather took videos of the performances and stuff.

I'd crop that one to center it up and get rid of the tiny bit of lean.

It was level when he took it, the lady in blue is just weighing the left side down.

Don't ever do closeups of people with a wide angle. why not? That's what makes UWA's so much fun!
