i love photography-on-the-net. I can fleece my old gear, make a handful of posts to up my "legitness" to further facilitate selling my old shit, and come upon masturbation fests like "is FF really all that?"

Welcome aboard. I've been preaching about the site since I found it.

What's your username there? Mine is the same, down to the avatar. Just made a new post there a second ago. ;\)

I've been living on that website since June. I mainly hang out in the Lens Archive. They have a Flikr pool, etc. Everyone with a Canon should be a member there just for the for sale forum.

I've been surfing that site for a few months now (since Mike told me about it) and I love it, I hate it, and I hate to love it but I do - lol. Every time I think I've decided on a lenses I go over there and find something else - errrrr. I'm so fucking torn between the 100-400 or the 70-200 f2.8 or even the 70-200 f4 and fuck every time I decide another sways me. FUCK!!! And of course all 3 are priced so differently every time I make a choice another part of me says, spend a little more, no save your money, but it's not much more, you don't need shit, am I talking to myself again?, hey these photos are incredible!, wtf... Photography is going to kill my brain.

Oh yeah. I can't read some forums without wanting to smash my laptop at the bad info. The lens archive is my daily inspiration to take better pictures. It was too much to take in at first, but I contribute all the time now.

No OB's over there. Some old seasoned photog will come along and burn those type of people pretty good in a subtle way. I got a warning when I first registered for asking if someone was serious or something. Very civil forum.

The transition to clubsi is a tough one. Since we aren't a photo site, there seems to be an attitude of "use your kit lens until you are a pro" here. That tune gets old - Some of us just like nice things.

jsmonet has a starter kit's worth of gear compared to most people on p-o-t-n.

We also keep it civil there because the for sale forum is a huge attraction. If I'm looking at two lenses, I read all the posts by the sellers.

I burned out fairly quickly on Nikonians, leaving only here to talk about photography. Well, I talk to people at school, but that mostly involves explaining photoshop since the university can't be bothered to teach it - and seriously (even ignoring our pros), the work here is consistently of a higher level than the work there.
