Honestly, I thought the OP was a little vague, too. I was thinking to myself, "what does he want us to do?" Should've just explained it a little more clearly. Your shot above made me say in my head "hmmm, treebranch in foreground."

Bob - its not a great example but it works and I could easily get to the file.
Sorry for not being more clear what I was looking for, are there any other questions about the assignment?

So "frame within the frame" is kind of what you are getting at...?

Geez people, framing is simply when an object in your photo acts as a frame for your subject.

It does count as internal framing, btw.
The framing elements don't have to be right on the edge of the image nor do they have to be on all sides of the subject.
cheers, scott
Very cool. Thanks.

I believe that Scott has earned an A for his excellent use of internal frames and his two extra credit entries. The backlighting on the third example is tough.
Mike you have a solid B. To me this is not the best example of internal framing because the car which is providing the framing is stealing the show from the woods which could be a very interesting subject on its own.
Ewraven I will grade you a B-. Good effort but the framing is not very strong and your camera phone is hurting your grade. I think that it would be tough for any camera to handle the shade and bright sky would in this picture.
As for the rest of you...you all get an I for incomplete. I too shall receive an I. I planned to shoot something on Friday but then I found 2-3 inches of water in my basement. Luckily my photo and mini-studio did not get ruined, with the exception of my muslin everthing was bone dry.
