It's a 35mm Praktica FX - waist level viewfinder, cloth focal plan shutter, 50mm f/3.5 coated Carl Zeiss Tessar lens, screw mount.
Other FX models came with the f/2.8 version of this Tessar lens, so I'm not all that sure why this is a 3.5.
Some fun notes:
- there's a magnifying glass in the viewfinder for critical focus - the mirror is engaged as you wind to the next frame, after you fire the shutter the mirror stays flipped up until you advance to the next frame. - there are three flash sync ports on the front of the camera, top port plus middle is for X-sync, bottom port plus middle is for F-sync. The middle port is the ground port.
I'll be loading some film up in it and shooting tomorrow at lunch.

I'm going to take it out in a few - only B/W 35mm I had on hand was two rolls of 3200 (kodak and ilford) and one roll of ilford HP5 400, but it's 36 frames. I hate wasting film, but I gotta break down 36 frames in an hour.

I will develop and scan tonight.
working without a meter is tricky. thank god this is negative film and not slide!

I enjoy it (film shooting, that is) and I have a thing for old cameras. Something about their build, and quality just amazes me. This camera is at least 55 years old, and does not look like it was ever tuned, and it still fires. Something tells me my 30d just won't be around in 2060.
