BY DEFAULT... Lightroom WILL ONLY install as a 32bit piece of software!
This means if you have 64bit windows/over 3.75GB of ram... LIGHTROOM ISN'T UTILIZING IT~!
To MAKE SURE that you ARE RUNNING Lightroom 2.x or greater (we're up to 3.3 now), you need to go into the program, and click-> Lightroom->About Lightroom and make sure it specifies you're running 64 bit...
If it says 32bit you're running the slow version of the program!
If you want to install lightroom and make sure you're using the 64 bit program, unzip the installer and when the dialog box comes up that looks like this:
UNCHECK "Launch the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.0 Installer" and then make sure to click "Open the Specified Folder" in the Files are Ready dialog.
After doing this. you’ll see an Adobe Photoshop Lightroom directory that contains "setup32" and "setup64" executables. I’ll let you pick the one you think most appropriate
This has been a Gb Public Service announcement!
