Im going to chicago next week and dont want to bring all my lenses. I only want to bring 2 zooms. What do you guys think? Here are my lenses

14-24 f/2.8
24-70 f/2.8
70-200 f2.8 vr2
50mm f/1.4d

I was thinking of bringing the 14-24, 70-200, and 50mm.

Sounds like a plan. You have to have the wide angle for the city and the telephoto is a must imo.

I use a 17-55 and 70-200 walking around ATL and wish I had wider than 17mm all the time.

I am out of room for my carry on, but the 50 doesn't take much space and i figured it would be good for low light indoor shots.

You can't beat a 1.4 for interiors, but I assumed based on those lenses that you've got a baller body that has no ISO issues to speak of.

On a d700, i'd probably just take the 24-70 and 70-200. The 14-24 is awesome, but the 24 is a decent wide angle on FF.

I know what you're saying about taking the 50mm. It's too easy to go ahead and pack than leave at home. My backpack is just big enough for two bodies and 2 f/2.8 zooms with flash, prime,batteries, etc.

I'd say the 24-70 and 70-200, but if you need the wide angle reach, take the 14-24 instead and leave the 70-200 at home

The 24-70 adds very little that you can't get with the other two lenses by moving your feet while the 14-24 and 70-200 offer views that you often can't get by moving your feet simply because there's no room or you've got obstacles.

Yea I bought the D90 and tamron lens but wasnt happy with it, so i got the D700 and 2.8 trifecta from B&H since it was on sale and saved a lot of cash.
