The mirror less cameras are very interesting to my but I have nearly seen a comparison between a DSLR and a EVIL camera.
We should see Nikon EVIL camera shortly. I looks like it will not use the classic Nikon F mount. I would be more likely to buy it as a backup camera if it used the same lenses.

All I'm seeing is a good looking P&S with one lense. This replacing DSLRs anytime soon? Laughable.

All I'm seeing is a good looking P&S with one lense. This replacing DSLRs anytime soon? Laughable. rangefinders are nothing new, and have their place alongside slr's. it's short-sighted of anyone to say a rangefinder will replace slr's, but it's equally short-sighted to undervalue their place in photography
replacing DSLR's anytime soon? no, not soon, but eventually. yes, this new fuji "looks" and functions much like a rangefinder, but the compact design will be the future. like i said before, the mirror shutter is an old design that will become obsolete in the future. when you eliminate the mirror flip shutter, the lens gets closer to the sensor. and when that happens, the lenses themselves get smaller. obviously this is the case w/ leica and their range of lenses now. and of course, the leaf shutter itself will not be needed anymore. sensor will simply be turned on/off by electronics.
the technology is already here today. take a full frame sensor of the canon, put it in a leica rangefinder body, use the leica lenses, and you got high quality photos that are just as good as the best DSLRs out there. the only difference is, the leica will be more compact in design. there is absolutely no need for the bulk of DSLRs and their lenses. the biggest reason the big companies haven't done this is b/c it would require an overhaul of lenses. but it's companies like fuji and this camera that are paving the way towards that transition.
C/N: cameras in the future will eliminate the mirror shutter, be much more compact in body & lenses. they'll be similar to a rangefinder, except maybe w/ more ergonomic handgrips.

I've always been told "it's not the size, it's how you use it"
