Nope, brand new with a 4 year extended warranty. The last thing I needed was a to have a fucked up lens and out $500.

I've been using mine almost like a macro lately. Just got some pics of a lizard before the rain hit. The DOF at ~10 feet away gets very shallow.

I'm going out on a little fly fishing adventure tomorrow and will be packing the gear. I should have no problems catching a deer or two while I walk down to the river.. If I find ducks, it's on!!!!
Oh yeah, also picked up a tripod and a clear UV filter to protect my new possession.

Meh, no need to be extremely anal. Some dust or even fingerprints will go unnoticed as the camera focuses past that last element of glass unless you're getting a direct lens flare. The big HD video camera lenses I use go neglected and get even downright smudgey with no ill-effect to image quality. I saw a pro event photographer the other day that had a 5D hanging around his neck with no lens OR body cap. Nothing but exposed mirror.
I use windex and lint free throwaway lens wipes when it is time to clean.
