...as I wait for the battery to charge to my new DSLR.
First off I want to thank you guys on my other post and helping me to learn DSLRs. The time I spent with our work's Canon XSI has been invaluable and the help you guys gave me has been priceless.
Since then I borrowed a friends Nikon and used the XSI several more times. I've also gone back and used my P&S Sony DS9 a bunch and the difference in DSLR versus even big P&Ss are night and day.
Without going into too many details I finally purchased a Canon EOS 500D T1i. I used Best Buy's price match and got the camera for $649 with the kit EF-S 18-55 IS lenes. I grabbed a cheap UV filter for now and an 8GB SanDisk card all for under $750 (and I think I already lost the reciept - wtf!!!).
I hope to grab a good telephoto lenes in the near future (the 55-250 IS or maybe something better) and then build up some other stuff as well (2nd card, another battery, flash, etc...).

Here's a few. I wanted to go up and take some pics at the creek with the falls but they were merely a drip so I stopped by my parents and the pond.
There's nothing special in these 2, just some of the hummels my Mom wanted me to take pictures of. She wouldn't let me take them out of the glass case so there's some serious reflections going on... Oh well Mom loves them so YEAH!
And then a few pictures of the geese.
I was getting pissed because I could get them to come over to me but the fuckers wouldn't stay the fuck still.

Errrrrrr. I'd get the fuckers to come over, chill for a minute, slowly raise the camera, off they'd walk... The first goose I showed above I swore I had him, and I push the button and he's turned and grubbing down - fUCK!

I'm doubting it will be first but probably second. Only reason is I have no problem taking a $300 lenes out to the paintball field. Something $500+ I'm going to be very hestitant with.
