the local club here doesn't even have any events scheduled until the beginning of april I think auto-x in the snow would be fun
What part of PA are you? The NEPA region usually hosts winter events. In the past they would run no matter what unless it was a blizzard up near Reading. The one year it snowed like 3 feet and all you would see is the tops of the cars

Well I'm the Autocross Chief for Susquehanna Coming to our Novice School April 1st? Check our event registration at myautoevents.com and search for Appalachian Sports Car Club.
thats awsome, are you going to be one of the instructors at the Novice School?
I'm registered at the myautoevents site, and will register for the Novice School as soon as I get my SCCA registration, I'm just wondering about my tire pressure, any ideas of what pressure should I put in my tires before I go?
btw, I'm in Carlisle, about 40 miles away from Harrisburg

Well, the event was cancelled as all of you probably figured out. Motorsportsne is running an event at Giants Stadium every sunday up to April 8. Just two Si's show up. It would sure be nice to see a couple of you guys out there to beef up the competition. They run different rules and classes than SCCA. Last event I ran against a mid 90s Honda Civic CX, Nissan 240sx, E30 BMW M3, E90 330ci, a Mark V GTI, Mini Cooper S, Impreza RS, and an Acura RSX-S. It is a hike from Harrisburg however. We have one guy who comes all the time from Allentown.
If anybody's in the New Jersey Area then you probably already know about http://www.autox4u.com. You can also check out http://www.motorsportsne.com

wait, what? oh, now I get it, I was thinking Giant CENTER, not NY Giants, yeah, thats a little too far for me, allentown wouldn't be that bad, its about half the distance, but I can't handle that many hours of driving for a few minutes of auto-x, maybe if it was a day long track event.
btw, CivicRacerExR, do you know anything about the Carlisle Fairgrounds track? Its so frustrating that that is about 3 miles away from me, and I can't figure out when / if it is open. (we also have an airport about 2 miles away, but I don't think they'll let anyone use that)

Mike's a good guy to learn from, get him in your car whether he's instructing or not.
I'd like to learn with him as my instructor, but he probally wants to teach the drivers in the EVO and STI :o, those are wicked fast cars.
btw, are you able to do any "fun run" type stuff in a different car at all on april 1, because my dad will probally be bringing his '05 s2k, I don't know if he'll sign up for the course though. (I also tried to get him to swap front wheels with me for the event, didn't work :D)

I instruct anyone willing to learn and with an open mind. I have instructed students in anything ranging from a Ford Festiva, S2000, BMW M3, Corvette Z6, supercharged Ferrari (whoa!), supercharged Elise, and of course lots and lots of Hondas
We might do fun runs after the school is over like last year. But he has to sign up for the event in order to take advantage of it.
As for tire pressure usually I recommend 5psi over stock pressures. I run my Azenis about 40-45psi.
The Carlisle track is fun since it never changes you get to see year to year what your times were last year compared to this year. Great way to dial in your car. YOu also get about 10-20 practice laps. People's brakes caught on fire in the past
Registration for the event opens up Saturday morning (you can see it on the MAE.com site). It's based on a 1st come 1st serve basis. I also recommend visiting our Yahoo Groups (click on Groups on Yahoo and search for Susquehanna).
Mike's a good guy to learn from, get him in your car whether he's instructing or not.
Why thanks
Mike
