As of lately, I cannot stand my 00 Civic Si.. It's nothing but a piece of crap.. Well, I have nothing against Honda or anything of the sort, but theres just too much going wrong with it. I bought the thing a year ago with 91K miles on it and I just rolled it over to 100K a couple weeks ago.. Its needs a new timing belt/water pump soon, new clutch, something is messed up with the rear suspension, even though its completely new, well, a few months old after I got t-boned. So basically, I cannot win with this car.. Insurance rapes me, its $2600 a year with $500 deductible and 2450 with 1000 deductible.. I cannot save money keeping this car!!! Basically, my point it, I want a new car.. Not necessarily new, but something that wont keep me where I am. I want a sporty sedan thats decent on gas and insurance, anyone have any ideas? I've been looking at the Mazda 3S.

Getting rid of you SI for a Mazda 3........... I dont know how to answer that statement. I dont see how needing a new timing belt, or a new clutch is making it a POS. Those are routine maitnence things. if you dont change the belts then you wont even have a piece to drive. And After any form of accident the car isnt going to be exactly the same so since you got Tboned its gonna ride different. But why not take off full coverage and just pay basic. Just dont be a dink and hit someone. I dunno. All your reasons for wanting to get rid of the car are the perks of owning any car. They take maintnence.

I think you answered your own questions:
just rolled over 100k means things like those belts should be replaced clutches don't last forever just because your rear suspension is brand new doesn't mean they fixed your car right after it got t-boned. and your insurance isn't going to drop significantly with a car like a Mazda3...you must either be really young, have a crappy insurance company, have tickets or other issues with your record, etc. because I don't pay that much in insurance ($550/6months)

those are all problems you will have with any car at 100,000 miles, maybe even worse. if your suspension is messed up that is obviously because of someone didnt fix it properly after you got "t-boned". and as for the insurance, its gonna be just as much or probably even more for a mazda 3 because that is still considered a sports car.

Glad to see someone agrees with me that 100k miles on a car takes a toll, I just dropped 450 for the timing belt maitnence at 80k and I know the car needs some suspension bushings cuz it sat on cinder blocks for over a year in a maine winter. I love the car. and wouldnt want to drive a mazda 3 or 6 considering that every dub with any credit goes and leases the same damn one. I love my black si.

yeah, some of you don't have any understanding to why i wanted to get rid of it for a mazda3... but im keeping the Si for at least another year and a half and I just got it back today after replacing the timing belt, water pump, a motor mount (cracked), belts, gaskets, and clutch... things run like brand new... cost me $1561 though! but i just was looking at the mazda because I wanted a car thats basically new or brand new with a warrenty.. as it is, i have to pay back my parents for this shit, so its almost like making payments for a new car anyway. but i get tired of cars easily, well, at least, the civic, seeing as this is my second one in 2 years. i wanted something a little more updated, with a nicer interior and shit and a sedan... thats just a little bit of my reasoning.

Whoever that was that paid 400 bucks for a timing belt , you got raped. My mechanic changes that timing belt on a honda for 80-100 bucks.
All cars have this funny thing called "maintenance" you have to do periodically.
At 100,000 miles on a Honda, with proper upkeep, the car should handle and run like new still. However when a car with no frame gets "Tboned" it tends to effect the way it drives, especially when it is not repaired properly.
Your problem isnt with a Honda in general. It with the Honda you bought and wrecked.

Gosh, do the math!!! A fully paid car is better than one you owe money for!! Even with maintenance costs factored in, a few $$$ and then your car is pretty much good to go for another thousand miles!!! A few thousand is better IMO than a few tens of thousands!

ok...first off, if you're gonna get a mazda...the only choices to even consider would be a Mazdaspeed 6s, or a Mazdaspeed Protege....my cousin has two MSP's and they're pretty tight...Mazda 3's are ugly as hell and slow as piss
