Looking to replace the 20 year old builder grade garage door for my house.
Doing my research now and looked at Dodds who seem to manufacture their own doors and went to Markham Garage doors which sells Colpay and Garaga....both places are around $4300+ minimum.
One of my friends found a contractor that sell doors from http://www.upwardor.com
Canadian company, been doing it for 40+ years. I don't think the rubber seals are as good but everything else like the R rating is similar except the price is $2500 tax in.
Leaning towards the $2500 option as overengineering is nice from Dodds & Colpay but I don't feel its a $2000+ door. Anyone else have experience replacing their door recently?

i replaced mine with the same guy that did Wayne's.
we did 5 houses worth and are all happy with him. he uses upwardor doors and so far so good, havent had a winter with them yet tho

Made in Markham, pretty thick and insulated. No issues with my doors and been over a year. Bought my own openers at big box store.
They installed garage doors and openers for $1k a door cash.
Recently did Titty's house too and I think he's happy so far.
serious, just got mine done about a month ago to replace the old ass 30 year door and tractor sounding opener. i bought the opener, they installed it for me. great job, super quiet now. referred another family member and they went through toho too and they are happy with it.

Speaking of openers .. I have some old POS that doesn't auto-close after a few mins, no smart-ness to it, can't use LED bulbs, etc...
I was gonna pick up the latest/greatest Chamberlain from Home Depot, then came across this widget to make older ones smart... I'm gonna pick this up.
