4Three 4Three Post Master Sr Registered: 12/21/00 Posts: 5401 Loc: Markham, ON, Canada	those pedestrian crossing count-down things. i mean, they're a great invention for people walking, but i hate how so many drivers treat them like their amber lights. twice in the last few days i've had someone start to brake once the number counted down to less than 3 ... and that might have been ok, had the green light not continued for another 10 seconds after. i wish people would just drive according to the stop lights for the cars. because of these pedestrian count-downs i've gotta worry about the guy in front of me stopping early, and the guy behind me not knowing the guy in front of me might stop. someone needs to invent something where it's only visible to the people crossing the street. _________________________ Fake right, cross-over, shoot lefty

4Three 4Three Post Master Sr Registered: 12/21/00 Posts: 5401 Loc: Markham, ON, Canada	the problem is that not everyone understands how these lights work, and even if they did, all these aggressive guys will want to blitz thru the light and all these nervous twitchy types will slam the brakes. it just creates so much ambiguity on the road. it should be treated as supplementary information to the regular traffic light. if the thing counts down to zero, it doesn't mean you stop. it should just mean, be aware that you ~may~ need to think about stopping IF your light goes amber/red. edit: i guess my anger regarding these countdowns is a subset of my anger towards incompetent drivers. This winter has been brutal and knock on wood. I'm still here. I don't care how long it takes me to leave an intersection but I'm glad i m taking it easy cuz this winter I almost got t boned at the intersection 4 times regardless of the time of the day. Frankly I think traffic lights in SOME areas should be replaced w the roundabouts. _________________________ Who cares

Most people are in the middle lane doing 80km/h which leave the fast lane open for me to get home at my normal time... Fast lane with a bit of snow or the middle lanes that are iced over?
