My dad had a whole collection of them he took from kids when he was a cop. You might even have a hard time getting one shipped here.
From Wiki
Canada
Certain knives are designated as 'prohibited weapons' pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada. Section 84(1) defines such knives as "a knife that has a blade that opens automatically by gravity or centrifugal force or by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device in or attached to the handle of the knife".[7][8] By law, only those who have been granted exemption by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police via the Canadian Firearms Program are allowed to possess (but not acquire) prohibited weapons.
If one is found to be in unauthorized possession of prohibited weapon by any law enforcement officer, he or she is liable to maximum of 5 years in jail and the weapon being seized. The peace officer can then apply to a provincial court judge for the said weapon to be forfeited and be disposed as he or she sees fit. The import and export of such devices are also strictly regulated and enforced by the Canada Border Services Agency.[9]
Examples of such knives include:[10]
automatic knives such as switchblades centrifugal knives such as flick knives or butterfly knives; gravity knives; Constant Companion (belt-buckle knife) finger rings with blades or other sharp objects projecting from the surface; push daggers; spiked wristbands;
One-handed opening knives have been designated as legal to import by Canada Border Services as long as they don't fall into one of the prohibited categories.
There is no length restriction on carrying knives within the Criminal Code of Canada; the only restriction is for concealed carry.

No idea. If anything, a fixed blade is really more dangerous because theres nothing to open lol.
I can get my thumb assisted ones open plenty fast enough.
I wouldnt even know where to look in the US for an auto knife. The sporting goods stores like dicks just have regular knives.
Canadas gun/knife laws are retarded. With the proper licence, you can easily buy a Glock or an AR15, but Canadas idea of making them safer is to pin the magazines so they cant carry as many roads. I can still kill you just as dead, I just might have to reload a few more times lol.

I dont know what it's called, but there are quicker assisted open knives. It's not auto, so you can purchase them here. The thumb open part thingy, is reversed. So when you clip it to your jeans, there is a specific way as you take the knife out it pops open. I forgot the name of the knife company that makes it, but it was like $230 for the blade.
Anyone know what i'm talking about? It's a fairly new tech for pocket knifes. It's quicker than a auto open pocket folding blade.

if you can ever attend a flea market anywhere in the US you'd be amazed what you can buy, anything short of a shoulder fired missile, lol.

This is what I'm using for daily carry. Purchased it from S&R Knives from Woodbine Mall, came to $40 flat. The belt clip is reversible (held down with 3 torx screws). I reversed it so the hinge where the blade sits on the handle is facing down. This allows me to essentially pull the knife out of my pocket, at the same time extracting the blade. Lots of practice to make it happen though, but it works.

Top one was about $45, bottom about $20. Both from amazon.ca. Pics are about to scale too. Actual is about a 3" blade length for Covert, which I prefer. Feels better in hand and it opens much quicker. It also has some history to it for the coolness factor if you are giving it to a friend.

http://www.amazon.ca/Gerber-22-01967-Convert-Knife-Serrated/dp/B001PTGOO6 Came in a small box about the same size as the knife folded. Maybe 1"x4". Already sharp too lol. They have a removable clip so you can carry it on your belt or in a pocket.
Every guy no matter how gay, cool, metrosexual, macho, whatvere, needs a good tactical knife and a G-Shock watch.

Yup. I got a flask as a gift and Ive only used it a few times at places or events where chugging from a 40 of Johnnie Walker might be frowned upon.
My knives, I use pretty much daily.
