Anyone else find it annoying when they go on and on about upcoming snow storms....they make them out to be these big blizzards where you are stuck indoors for days...5-10cm is nothing

5-10 is barely a storm let alone a blizzard. London Ontario's situation was a blizzard.

Wish Durham got what London got. We all know Toronto wouldn't be able to handle it and probably would call in the army again Bunch of pansies

It's because of all the bad drivers. 5cm means like 1000000 accidents and 1h added to a commute.

There should be a specific winter driving test for anyone who's new to the country and is trying to get a license. Half the people on the road would be stuck at home because they'd fail

heh, how different things are depending on your outlook....

I talked to a buddy mine who's still working at a ski hill in BC...

they were disappointed when the storm only dropped 32 inches

Got up at 4 to start shoveling in an attempt to make it into work for 6. There is about 2 feet of snow on the road and they havent been plowed yet. Looks like it might be a snow day for me. Not good considering this is a new job I just started 1 month ago.

I never drive work (70 kms each way) but today I have to cause of a meeting that ends at 9pm. I am leaving now to take the wife to the go train cause she got in at 2:30am from work and I told her to leave the car there (came home in a cab). Meanwhile the last time I got rem sleep was in china when I woke up yesterday. Fml.

2-3' of snow + unplowed roads = stuck lol

3 other people on my shift including my boss have so far booked off work so I dont feel so bad. One of my neighbours who just got home from nightshift said none of the main roads here are plowed yet. My tax dollars at work yeah!

got to work 30 min past the usual.
not bad. mainly people were all staying in one lane together so it left the other lanes open to pass. if only they drove like this on dry pavement.

Got to watch one dude in a Versa fly through an intersection trying to beat the light making a left turn and proceed to plow straight through the lanes he was trying to enter, wheel fully locked, and bounce HARD off the curb.

Sadly, the car still drove away.

Damned streetcar was 20 mins late, and packed.

Fucking hate the brown snow all over the place .. .that brown mush annoys the fuck outta me.

Tempted to just get rid of my Michelin X-Ice rubber... Such a POS, I'm sure there's something better than them without going to Blizzacks (hate the fact they're only 50% sticky rubber.)

x-ice2 is supposed to be improved. blizzaks are good but if you dont want those you can get great tires for cheaper. gislaved are worth looking into since hakka's are money. if not, just get hankook's (ipike or ws300 i think they're called), nice winters for the money. general altimax arctic aren't bad for the money either i've heard.

At this point it's about cost -- I've only put 1-2 winters into these X-Ices... Unfortunately I think I bought them just before X-Ice 2's came out

Definitely better than all-seasons, but I've been spoiled by Michelin Arctic Alpins....

Arctic General user here. They are ok. Nokians are better but for the price, I Arctic Generals are pretty good value.
