On my way back from lunch (manager was driving); we were lined up waiting on the red (eastbound on Lawrence West, few blocks west of Dufferin).
Cop car w/ 2 cops inside zooms by the middle w/ the disco lights on (no siren) -- no big deal.
Right after he passes the light, he turns off the disco lights (at this point, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he was no longer needed -- fine).
A block ahead, there was another red (it's at a smaller intersection) -- fucker turns on the disco lights again and blows by the intersection then quickly turns it off again. WTF 
Then finally we hit Dufferin, a 3rd red -- cop was on the right lane, cars were lined up again; all of sudden he honks at the guy that was next to him, jerks the cruiser almost taking out his front end then finally turns on the disco lights again, carves through to the left turn lane and darts out in the intersection (while people are trying to complete their left turns) -- basically causing 2 near collisions and a clusterfuck cuz now everyone needs to stop these 2 clowns.
And of course the entire time they don't turn the siren on or that phaser (buzzer?) type sound; so it's not like they made it easier for people to pay attention to them.
And of course once they get through the intersection, those fuckers turn off their lights again.
There has got to be some policy against that shit.
And they wonder why the general public hates cops.

i've always wanted to install a bb gun hidden in my bumper ducts with a remote trigger and shoot out someones tire if they are doing something stupid... cops included.
i wonder if a bb gun pellet can actually take out a tire. might have to use something stronger
Haha yeah man you would need a real bullet and even then it may not go through. Just get those tire shredder rims/hubcaps and you're good.

No it can't. But maybe a nice high powered green laser could burn a hole in said tire. These lasers are legal after all, unlike the bullet firing guns.

I Can see how it may not look appropriate to have the lights on approaching an intersection then turn them off. But most people although the guys here know what to do when the lights are on. Most idiots slam on their brakes right in the lane they are in. So it's easiest if they have lights to clear the intersection go through turn them off and continue.
But everyone has their own opinion.
