00si2 00si2 Jr Poster Registered: 03/07/05 Posts: 170 Loc: Pittsburgh, Pa	My brothers car was vandalized. It was spray painted and keyed down the passenger side. It just happened a few hours ago so im hoping the paint isnt completly cured yet. Question is whats the best way to remove the spray paint without damaging the paint?

Not a polisher, but a buffer, yes, there's a difference. This will take it right off. I should know. _________________________

99 SI AutoXer 99 SI AutoXer Post Master Jr Registered: 11/16/01 Posts: 1821 Loc: West Michigan	Be very careful with a buffing wheel, you can burn right through your cars paint if your not careful. Try the rubbing compound first with a little elbow grease. A second option is a mild solvent like mineral spirits, acetone, or something with a alcohol content will work as well. I've used these on automotive finishes to clean stains on paint. Try a small spot and see how it works out. You'll need alot of clean rags but it should work, its just going to take some time. You'll have to rewax since those types of solvents will strip the wax right off your car. 00si2 00si2 Jr Poster Registered: 03/07/05 Posts: 170 Loc: Pittsburgh, Pa	I ended up using a rubbing compound and just doing it by hand. It took a while but i eventually got it all off. Now i just have to get it buffed to get it to shine again. The thing that sucks is it was painted on the drivers side and keyed down the passenger side. Thanks for all the help.
