On my EG the brake pedal is feeling kind of soft. Definatly softer then any other of the 4 civics i've owned. When i apply pressure it seems to travel farther down then normal before i start to feel the brakes working. I can also slam it all the way to the floor as hard as possible (going around 50mph) and even then it will barely lock the tires up sometimes that wont even lock up, no abs. On any other civic i do that it will lock up the tires hard enough that i can bald spot the tires if i wanted to.

What i've done...
1. New brake pads, ATE brand. They are the same ones in my Si & work great.
2. New brembo blank rotors.
3. Bleed the brake fluid, no air bubbles at all.
4. So then i changed out all the brake fluid, positive there is no air in the line.
5. Brake lines are originals but look in great condition.

It still feels the same. My best guess is master cylinder. It doesn't visablly leak, but is there any other way to check it before i go and replace it. Or any other opinions on what it might be?

-Thanks

yea, the shims are still there. I read that to test the MC that you hold steady pressure on the brake pedal & if it starts to slowly depress further, then its going bad. I tried that & mine didn't depress at all.

So yea, the only other thing i can think is the brake lines. Maybe i'll buy new ones & see if it helps.

I'd have to say MC or brake lines, however it seems more reasonable to be the MC.

Not trying to threadjack, but rather help a fellow member - i have the MC from my Si if you end up needing one. Not sure what is needed to put it in, probably just the booster, but i have it none the less.
