i have a 2k Si with 113k miles. Is it normal that it burns about 3/4 qt. or oil every 3-4k miles?

3/4 to 1 quart is quite common on the 99-00 si's...If it gets worse, let us know

Mine has 121k and burns it in vtec only. I checked the compression and it was perfect all the way across. I am at a loss too man.

Most high revving engines burn oil... Sounds like your B16 is acting normally...

my first honda was a gsr and i had the same "problem", took to a mechanic, said it was fine, not uncommon.

I personally hit vtec a few times whenever I drive and I am usualy half a quart less when I change the oil.
