Has anyone heard of OBX cams? We're looking at them. Stage 1, Lift/Dur is; In-456,252. Ex 426,249. It says they require retainers and springs which we are also looking into, but are they really "needed" for a stage 1, or required by seller for warranty nit picks. The entire motor is getting rebuilt (OEM rings, bearings,seals,headgasket,etc...). What kind of horspower do B16 owners typically expect to acheive on a very mildly modded B16 (ie; cold air intake, header, aluminum flywheel, exhaust) by switching cams. Mainly looking to keep it streetable and comfortable enough to drive. Thanks!

No one? Anybody buy any headers off Ebay? Any good for a temporary header while saving for turbo parts? You know, the elcheapo headers on Ebay made by children in 3rd world countries. I want to help feed them.

I haven't been on here for that long, but from what i've read, you get what you pay for when you buy somthing from ebay.
I personally wouldn't buy somthing that cheap to put on my car, but everyone has there own opinion i guess.

And also, from what i've read on here as well, a mildly moded B16 like you were describing, may have slight gains. But when you drop in cams you'll have to tune your car to get everything out of it.

The obx cams have been known to tear up rocker arms thanks to them being steel.

I thought cams were steel? Are they billet aluminum? I figured that would be too hard. I also thought stock cams were steel since shops weld on material and regrind them. I just didn't know if Stage 1's required valvatrain mods like retainers or springs, or mild enough to keep stock. As far as the header, we are looking for a temporary one since were's saving for a turbo in the "long run". A cheap one may do temporarily since the downpipe and collector flange is all dented up.

Well if you are going turbo why even both with a header in the first place. Waste of money.

Saving for a turbo kit, about $2-3k. Exhaust manifold is pretty banged up, and needs replaced to keep it running/sounding okay. A cheap ebay header seems like a cheap bridge, just wondering if anyone has gotten one.
