SCskunk2Si SCskunk2Si Newbie Registered: 08/28/06 Posts: 38 Loc: south carolina	What more will i need besides the block itself when or if i do the swap? any information will help or references i read the whole b18c5 block swap and i know that might be similar but are there any motor specific changes or parts ill need to do the swap?

I am selling them if you want em just let me know. Here are a couple of pics. SCskunk2Si SCskunk2Si Newbie Registered: 08/28/06 Posts: 38 Loc: south carolina	if im not mistaken ctr pistons are 100grams heavier than my b16a pistons no? i remmeber reading that in some forum on here it was comparing ctr pistons to another similar high compression piston and wont i already be at alot highrer cr with LS/VTEC around what cr will i be at when swap is finished with PR3 pistons and around what cr would CTR or ITR pistons give me are ITR and CTR pistons the same?(i think so but im not sure) Edited by SCskunk2Si (10/04/06 03:54 PM)

SCskunk2Si SCskunk2Si Newbie Registered: 08/28/06 Posts: 38 Loc: south carolina	Quote: And as for the pistons they should work but if your going to swap out pistons why not go with higher compression pistons like CTR's or ITR's??? compression calculator according to their calculator the PR3 usdm gives a higher cr than the ITR P73 usdm it gives around the cr same as ITR P73 jdm however it the cr of B16 P30 jdm is quite a little bit higher than the PR3s with that information wouldnt it be wiser to just stick with my pistons rather than buy new ones that will give less or same cr unless CTR pistons are PCT pistons ? in which case they would be higher cr. b6ixteen b6ixteen Post Master Jr Registered: 12/29/04 Posts: 1846 Loc: Florida	OEM headgaskets are 3 layers; people usually take the middle layer out to get a little more compression. But you could buy a Mugen/Spoon headgasket to raise CR, or do the former, heck I've heard of some using only one layer from the OEM gasket.

SCskunk2Si SCskunk2Si Newbie Registered: 08/28/06 Posts: 38 Loc: south carolina	BAD NEWS well the reason i was doing lsvtec was because i couldnt sell my b18b1 engine (full swap) today a man knocked on my door around 12ish noon and wanted to buy it and take a look at it. well he comes monday to pick it up. i cant decide wether im happy it got sold or sad because i cant do the conversion now which i was really looking forward to doing. i just wanted to thank everyone for their help as i was preparing to do the swap yet cant now. however i still plan on doing the conversion in the future so i will keep u posted as to when i get a b18 block again. well thanks the info helped alot
