I need some input. i have a 06 Yamaha YFZ450 ATV. i was toying with the idea of adding a small turbo to it.(from an eclipe). ideas? input? thoery's? I know Cuao boosted a sandrail so im no too sure what the major differences would be from the 2.

you will need a much smaller turbo.
one from a compressor would work.

then all you have to do is supply it with oil somehow, and drain the oil back to the crank case, and if you want to do it right, you should convert to efi and some sort of management. you could always convert the carbs to blow through though (then you need a bov) or you could do draw through like i did on the sandrail and relocate the carb to in front of the turbo (increases throttle lag)

Then i guess my next question would be, is it worth it? or should i just go NA(pp Head,High comp piston, etc..)?

depends what you want with the bike, if you are building a full out sand drag bike or drag bike, i would say go all out with the turbo. if you want to be able to take it out and rip through the dunes or trails or motocross track, you might want to keep it N/A.

I will refer you to East Coast atv, for they build some of the most magnificent motors and set ups on the dirt and street. They just finished my buddy jarron's banshee motor, it runs a 10.99 at 115 mph and they are saying it will run faster when he gets the launch down. If anyone out there can help you it would be the guys there, and they have a lot of other nice products, bought a few things from them for my 07' 450. Also yfzcentral.com those guys are very helpful and there are a few boosted guys on there that may be of some help.
