Hi all,
I finally decided to go with the standalone (more a question of $$ than anything else). I'm running a simple JRSC 6psi setup with piggybags (MAP controller and BTC, yeah I know, should have spend my money on the standalone before) with 60,000miles on it. Never had any problems but my car is only pulling 200hp.
Before you recommend anything please consider the following:
- I'm in Peru, which means that nobody can tune my car exept me
- I know little about tunning but I can do my best
- I don't plan on doing future upgrades, just a basic tunning to get the best out of my car
So, I thought that the Jackson Racing Hondata kit would be good for me but seems kind of expensive at $1500. Is it really the best option? Can I get something as simple as that kit but cheaper?
Thanks!

U really need to have the standalone tuned. maybe there is a speed shop somewhere near you (look harder), consider making a day or weekend trip, trust me it's not worth breaking your engine. the only other thing I would suggest, although it's not ideal, is the jackson racing factory fuel management system, or whatever comes in the box with the blower. even if you have an a/f meter it's not safe to drive the car untuned. you could have washed out your cylinders by now from too much fuel, or you may be on the verge of the big D.

Definately try to find a local turner but if you have to at it alone then your looking at close to a grand for parts cause you need an 0BD1 comp, jumper harness, and software.

Don't rock the boat. If the car is running well, and everything is in order...let it be.

If you were going for "big" power I wouldn't be suggesting that, but a 200whp jrsc is fine on the piggyback.

Save the $$.

Its not 200whp, its 200hp measured on the local dyno which I don't really trust. I think it was around 173whp which really sxs.

try opening it up with a better header (kamikazi 2.5" header), 2.5" testpipe and a 2.5" exhaust.

OR

lose some weight out of the car.

Good idea, but I already did that a couple of years ago. I installed a 2.5 Kamikaze header and bought a Comptech icebox intake. My exhaust is a 2.5 inch. I didn't get much of a difference though.

Try a compression test, I bet your not making power because it has been running supercharged on stock timing for how many years?
