Hi Guys, just a couple of issues really about my turbo install.I've had my inline pro mani, 57trim t3/t04e turbo and front pipe fitted today. All looks good

I was wondering about gaskets for the wastegate and turbo flanges,do you guys use any or can I get away with exhaust paste?? I had a gasket with my old t3 turbo flange. That was because I warped the flange welding it.I was more careful with this one and the surfaces are flat. The surfaces are also flat on wastegate and mounting point on the manifold.
I was also wondering about the oil drain. Can I get away with a 5/8" 90* fitting just where it goes to the sump?? Obviously looking from the front of the car the fall will be approx 45* all the way up to the turbo.

I wouldn't use any "paste" on your flanges to take the place of a gasket...

Alot of people run w/o one and have good luck...I had one..so I used it...

As long as your oil drain is not kinked and gravity can feed it...it should be fine..

Post some pics if you want.

OK I'll make some gaskets up.Don't trust running without a gasket.I'll make sure that the oil runs down hill. I'm hoping to have the car boosted again tomorrow. It's been a long time waiting

on one of the first manifolds i built i warped the head flange (i cut it free hand with an oxy acetylene torch so it was warped before i started welding on it haha) i just used some RTV Silicone on it and it worked fine. let it cure for 24hrs before you go beating on it. it's not a cure, just a band-aid for cheapasses. best thing to do is take it to a machine shop and have it milled if its warped. heh

FYI, the gaskets aren't a foam type you can cut from a roll..they are a sheet metal type...best to just buy them off eBay or atpturbo.com ,etc...

cuaO the flange isn't warped. That was on my old setup ;\)
Adam, I have some good gasket material that can withstand very high temps. You can't buy it at your local motor parts depot. I use it at work for the super heated steam lines. It held up very well on the T3 turbo to exhaust front pipe on my last setup.I have got a metal gasket for the manifold to turbo joint.
Just been making the other gaskets. They are all ready now for the install
Just got to sort that oil return line now.By the way Adam, did you fit that oil feed restrictor?? If so,how is it performing??

That's great! What sized restrictor did you go for?? I've just sorted my oil return line.It only cleared the down pipe by 0.5mm so I technically adjusted the down pipe and it has 8mm now I think I'll get some heat proof bandage for it

I run stainless on my feed & return...as long as it's not touching any exhaust pieces it's more than fine.

I'll try to find a link to the restrictor I bought...

If you get gaskets, I would go with the stainless steel gaskets if possible. I had one of mine partially melt and leak between the turbo manifold and the turbo and then another one is leaking exhaust a little bit too but its a b**** to get to and its not that bad so i'm going to concentrate on other things. But get the stainless and not the one that has like the material with the heat shield on each side
