KWada520 KWada520 Newbie Registered: 01/27/03 Posts: 15 Loc: San Jose, CA	it all started when my bolts from my tubro manifold to the head kept breaking. i gave my car to my friend to fix it because he knows some people. when he gave me my car back it was smoking way too much. when i got it back on that same night i took my girlfriend home and i got pulled over by 3 cops because i was leaving a trail of smoke. my gf and i were so embarrassed. my friend had told me it was fixed and the smoking would go away in about two days. yea riite.he said that came out with a port and polished type R head and i got a new head gasket and arp studs. i took it for a compression test and cyl. 3 was hella dead and cyl 4 was a little weak. they told me to change the head gasket, but my friend said that he got a new one. also, when i got my car back it sounded like an old car. it made a "putt putt putt" noise and my avcr doesnt work no more. all my other friends tell me to get a new block, so i was thinking of getting a B18 with pistons and rods but i dont know what size or which ones to get or should i just keep the B16 and just get pistons and rods and what size. i dont no a lot of things because i just had my friend do it but i dont trust him anymore. can somebody help me figure out what is wrong with my car and its sound and my boost controller and what pistons and size and rods? i need fat ass help. no joke.

cua0 cua0 Post Master Supreme Registered: 02/04/01 Posts: 17270 Loc: Red Deer, Alberta, Canada	no shit, but i don't think it's the kind of help you're going to find here. sounds like you got scammed hard. you need help picking who your friends are is my first thought. take it to a qualified mechanic and have them do it for you since you don't sound like the type of person who can do stuff themselves. as far as new block or whatever that's up to you and your wallet to work out, try reading the bigassed FAQ at the top of the forum (someone might be nice and link it, me i'm too lazy.) i don't see any reason to replace the block you have because your compression test results came back bad, sounds more like a piston/ring problem to me. but hey, like i said talk to a qualified mechanic or two! _________________________

BEFORE YOU TAKE IT TO ANY LOCAL SPEED SHOPS PM ME. some of these local shops will fuck you harder than your friend. i watched them put s2s2 cams into an h22 with no valve adjustment, old timing belt, and NO FUEL SYSTEM. i commented on it and the guy just laughed. when the kid went to drive the car the ecu actaully made the car stop running, IE-bog hard, because he was hitting lean-fuel-cut................ so please, be careful, everyone (honestly) is out to fuck you in the ass.
